And I appreciate that. I also know where you’re coming from.

And I have to disagree about “contest diet.” I’d be telling her how long to space meals out, what time to hit the gym, how much sodium to add to food, etc. etc. There’s alot of flexibility to my meal plan.

Here is the most important part though. Once the plan was made, she could have said something, like “hey, this is gonna be really tough? Can we modify?” All I got was jokes about cake and beer and didn’t know whether to take it seriously or not.
By the sounds of it nez is pretty new to all of this (working out included) and while JSK’s plan is bound to work there are other ways to skin a cat that may seem easier to adhere to in the long run.
I agree 100%. This is why I asked her which she preferred. She requested SPECIFIC meal plan, so that’s what I did. Specific meal plan is actually not my personal preference and stresses me the hell out. I’ve never done it and never will (with the exception of the last THREE days before my recent show!).

Though these are the first few I’ve worked with for the world of the interwebz to see, I’ve helped out a few friends and family members IRL, and adapted to some pretty crazy requests from the onset. Spidey’s eating chocolate chip waffles to hit his macros for crying out loud. I offered to do that sort of thing instead and give guidelines to learning to count macros. She wanted specific meal plan, which actually took more of my time to make.
Everyone, at different levels of the game see things in a different light and that light is always changing. So some of you guys are pretty extreme to the average person.
I was under the impression that nez doesn’t want to be the “average person.”

I don’t know if that was directed at me. I said nothing negative in my posts and intended to bow out graciously. She has nothing to feel bad about. But this is like a science experiment, and I can’t run it if my lab partner is going to taint the data. I REALLY needed the first week to establish her “base line” if you will.

I don’t taint data or eat chocolate chip waffles

Dude, she had a freaking beer! Shes new to this you should all cut her some slack. A good coach adapts to his clients.

If you absolutely cannot live without a beer or cake then you must do the following.

Be fucking strict about your cheats. So… ONE BEER ONLY, OR A PORTION OF CAKE PREF PREPAKAGED SO YOU CANT EAT MORE. Only ever have one beer and piece of cake in the house at any time.

Heres the kicker. If you cheat, you must pay penance. So you can do 30 mins steady state cardio and some kettle bell swings as penance. Those are the rules, and if you cheat more than once a week (not including planned cheats) with those rules you need to get a grip!!!

At least you were honest! Most people would lie.
This would be solid advice if this thread was about you coaching her. But… it’s not. So…

  4. Goal: when I started working out in may 2012 it was to lose the extra 20 lbs I was carrying around and stop being scarier to look in the mirror at myself (((shutter))). Now that I’m hooked on lifting weights, I wanna be lean and mean! July 4th week I’m going on vacation and wanna be ripped.

  5. In October I mimicked my husband workout: squats, deadlifts, bench. Then I got bored(because I didn’t have a set in stone routine) and started the last two phases of Jamie Easons Live Fit. Now I’m doing upper/lower split 4 days a week. I do sprints sometimes but I hate cardio…
I belong to a gym with all the bells and whistles.
Squat: I can do two reps of 135lb
    Deadlifts: 1 rep at 190lb
    Push-ups: 10?
    Pullups: 3

  6. I would like 5 days a week.

  7. Macros- I’m a lost soul… I “cheat” everyday: I like a cold corona sometimes after my job waiting tables and I make my kids dessert a lot and often steal a bite. I do try to consume 100g of protein a day, consume around 1300 calories a day, avoid gluten mostly, like my veggies. I never eat pizza or anything of that nature. I’m more of a whole foods kinda gal. I do, however, eat cottage cheese and hummus a lot. My typical diet is: eggs, Ezekiel bread, grass fed butter, coconut oil, salads, carrots with hummus, lots of almonds, fruit, protein powder, homemade protein bars, roasted dark chicken, hamburger patties, chili con carne, dark chocolate.

8.multivitamin when I remember.
Fish oil when I remember.

  1. July 4th I wanna look like a babe! Lets go!!!
Nez,

Just wanted to pop in and say that it is awesome to see a girl actually trying to PUT ON MUSCLE and build an aesthetic physique…rather than simply trying to get skinny and lose their curves!!!

Best of luck, will be following your progress.

Yet you’re here, claiming he’s a bad coach, because he didn’t make an adjustment to his client, when it hasn’t even been a week and he wasn’t even directly asked for said change?

No one is saying Nez is doomed for failure or some shit lol. She’s got here head on straight and will likely obtain her goals. All anyone is saying is that Jake extended something pretty solid in offering to coach her for free, and she should probably REALLY try to take advantage of that.

And I think your ‘cheating’ idea is kind of silly. lol. It’s hard to out work a bad diet. If anyone wants a beer or some cake or whatever, then learn to count macros and make it fit. Yesterday I fit in chicken strips and sweet tea, and like others have said I use chocolate chip waffles as a carb source. lol.

Well you would think that because you are being trained by someone else and don’t know what to do yourself.

I live in the real world where people aren’t perfect and make mistakes. You can live in fantasy land where everyone just counts macros, never fucks up and makes perfect progress, and people get dropped like lab rats when they just act like any normal person.

I am not criticising his program. I’m criticising his dumping of his client. It’s lame. He obv. Wants a perfect before and after picture set and thinks he isn’t gonna get it so at the slightest hint of trouble he ditches his offer.

Yep. You got me all figured out.

Ok, I’ll make a deal.

I will continue to help nez IFF:

  1. Nez doesn’t deviate until we figure everything out. Customizing the diet and training to you is difficult enough and all that I really have time for given you stick to it 100%. Make that 90%, or 80% and I can’t really help you because I won’t know how you’re responding.

  2. MassiveGuns doesn’t post again in this thread. If he really has your best interest at heart, he will play his part, and bring his trolling elsewhere.

Deal?

It looks like your interest is in training someone who’s willing to be a bit more dedicated (no offense to Nez, I feel bad about your situation). My pictures are plentiful, so I obviously have a level of dedication. But I’d like some additional guidance. Particularly with diet. If you’re interested, let me know, and I can give you all the details you need. My financial/time resources are close to unlimited, so I could be a fun project

FWIW, absolutely no hate if you turn me down, I think what you’re doing 'round here is great either way.
To be honest, you seem to be doing very well. I’d be thrilled to be walking around looking like you in my off-season. What specifically did you have in mind? Just a diet plan that gets modified weekly? A training split?

I LOL’d @ fantasy land where everyone just counts macros. I guess you’re referring to the world of most who are serious about their body composition? What a fantasy!!!

So I guess because people aren’t going to adhere to their diet always, why even have one? I mean, shit, according to you just do 30 mins cardio for every slice of cake you eat and you’ll be golden. People will probably have to miss training sessions at certain points in their life, so let’s just not give them a routine either lol.

Saying someone should have at least tried to stick to the diet written for them (upon request I might add) for a week isn’t saying “fuck off you’re not perfect”. It just shows that maybe the person needs to evaluate how much their willing to put into this hobby. Not trying to be rude, but a small, undertrained female with little muscle mass just doesn’t have a ton of ‘wiggle’ room right off the bat.

So MG, please just stay out of this thread, because other then commenting on Nez’s ass and making your stupid cardio4cake method, you’ve brought nothing to the table of value. kthanxbye
