Nez1Nez: The Next Superheroine

Any solutions for beer? … I skipped the cake and beer after a really.bad.day.at.work. Today, however, I caved and had A cold Modelo. I’ll work out an extra day if need be. As far as the green tea extract- no problems thus far! No problems with anything since I cut the doses in half. Did workout c today and got my booty kicked! Loved it!

And what is the stance on squats? Aren’t they the mother of all exercises? Or is that the deadlifts? Hmmmmm…
Your workouts include both front squats and deadlifts. Both are very fitting to your goals right now–as you put it “lean and mean!” lol

Also this.

I like to mix a few Tbsp of this stuff with ice and instant coffee in the blender. Quite a nice “zero” calorie drink.
Thanks for the kind words.

Btw, can you please point me to a thread where I said “squats are not important?” Both nez1nez and spidey are doing front squats in their programs. I’m confused.

Missed the part about the Modelo the first time.

I obviously can’t stop you from the beer and cake. My intention was just to get you set up with an intelligible plan en route to your goal. At this point, I’m going to bow out of this and wish you best of luck on your quest to become lean and mean. I hope the training and meal plan will serve you well.

Bow out??? I’m not out raging by any means. I appreciate the sweet tooth suggestions- haven’t had jello in forever. The frozen protein bars are a great idea.
Stats will be posted Sunday- I honestly feel some changes in my middle

Yup.

While I certainly applaud your honestly in fessing up to your dietary malfeasance, nez, remember that jskrabac is (was) routinely taking time out of his clearly busy life to build a plan customized to YOU.

I’m not going to get all preachy and say that cheating on your diet is “disrespectful” to him, as this sorta thing has happened to almost all of us at one time (more times for me than I will ever admit), but please understand WHY doing so this early into the program is a definite concern.

jskrabac is doing an amazing job at taking the “thinking” part out of your training and nutrition; what he cannot do, however, is ALSO shoulder the burden of the effort that is required to make it happen. Because, make no mistake, the novelty of a new program and personal coach is gonna get old REAL quick… right around the time things step up and you are asked to make sacrifices above and beyond not indulging in a nightcap.

Had a stressful day at work? Well hold on to your butt, because 6 - 8 weeks from now you’ll STILL be having bad days at work… only this time you will be sleepier from waking early to rock some FMC and hungrier because chicken and veggie shakes with a side order of fish oil doesn’t quite take the edge off.

It’s an issue of trust. Simply: if you cannot be trusted to do the right thing when times are at their easiest, how can you be trusted do the right thing when times are at their hardest? THis philosophy isn’t about just the gym, btw.

It’s an issue of respect, too, but instead of respecting jskrabac I am talking about respecting YOURSELF, your goals and your time. You need to be as accountable for the promises you make to yourself as you are to the promises you make to other people for this process to work. Don’t fall into the trap of rationalizing decisions you KNOW won’t help you in the long run because “it’s not hurting anybody else” or because “no one will ever know.” Hold yourself to a higher standard than that.

Wanna know the truth? The difference between who are now and who you will be 2 - 3 months down the road, physique wise, is nothing more esoteric than the totality of every decision you make about your training and nutrition from here on out. Seriously. You have a GREAT plan going here, so now it is 100% up to you. And keep in mind, you will never, ever make a choice that occurs in a vacuum; every single decision you will ever consciously make, whether it’s grinding out those final few reps on squats, procrastinating on an important assignment at work or “rewarding” yourself for your daily efforts with a cold beer are ALL functioning at a subconscious level to set down a complex neurological framework of habits geared towards either success or failure.

When you drank that Modelo, please understand that you were simply operating under the same status quo of failure and setbacks that made you go looking for a coach in the first place. I’m not saying it was out of your control (you DID dun goofed), but I just want you to know the battle is going to be just as mental as it is physical… which is both good and bad because the mental challenges, while the toughest, are also the most rewarding.

Yeah, it was “just a beer”… but at the same time, it’s about a little more than just a beer, ya know? Not the end of the world (some people turn that sorta thing into a binge that lasts until their “fresh start” the following Monday), but do yourself a favor and nip this sorta stuff in the bud early. And trust that the man knows what he’s doing.

Good luck!

Prolly should have stuck a lol comment in there because I don’t think the “tongue in cheek” intent was conveyed. I was referring to the discussion in the leg press-squat thread from yesterday in this forum. Did not intend to misrepresent you.

You are right. I feel so bad.
It is oh so obvious that everyone on the forum respects him and what he offers to is community. I meant no disrespect and I am truly grateful for his plan. I let my emotions get in the way of my success. And to be honest…it didn’t even taste good.

jskrabac - This is a really nice thing to do. I think your pint-sized nutrition plan is right on track.

Nez - This will be fun to follow and you look like you’re already on your way. We’ll soon have our own little Jamie Eason running around. Go to it!

Exactly…Nez, you have the tools, now keep pushing forward.

Post your progress here.

I am going to point out a different side to things and it will probably ruffle some feathers.

You take a person that is new to thinking about nutrition… has ‘cheats’ everyday, knows nothing about macros, cals etc. and you put them on a super strict diet plan that competitors use meant to get contest lean. What do you think is going to happen?

By the sounds of it nez is pretty new to all of this (working out included) and while JSK’s plan is bound to work there are other ways to skin a cat that may seem easier to adhere to in the long run.

Everyone, at different levels of the game see things in a different light and that light is always changing. So some of you guys are pretty extreme to the average person.

NOT saying the nez cant do this, but also dont think its fair to make her feel bad either.

Agreed…but when you ask for free help that normally would cost money. You have to toe the line.

Totally agree…but it’s only been a few days as was just pointed out. A bit to quick to give in to a craving, although I’m impressed it was just ONE beer.

Hey Jskrabac, got a question for ya. Your transformation was fucking awesome. I remember your first ‘can I be a model’ thread, and I thought it was laughable. It was clearly no joke.

It looks like your interest is in training someone who’s willing to be a bit more dedicated (no offense to Nez, I feel bad about your situation). My pictures are plentiful, so I obviously have a level of dedication. But I’d like some additional guidance. Particularly with diet. If you’re interested, let me know, and I can give you all the details you need. My financial/time resources are close to unlimited, so I could be a fun project

FWIW, absolutely no hate if you turn me down, I think what you’re doing 'round here is great either way.

I’m not giving up. I will still post.

The diet Jake constructed for Nez is not a ‘super strict diet plan that competitors use meant to get contest lean’ lol.

It’s a solid diet constructed for a small woman with (no offense) little muscle mass as of right now because she’s new to weigh training. It’s also with the caloric range Nez herself gave Jake. AND the plan is to start low, find out the baseline calories needed, and adjust from there. So this isn’t even necessarily a long-term diet, simply one to try and figure out what adjustments need to be made for Nez.

I’m not trying to start a shit-storm of any kind. I just think calling this thing a super strict contest diet is no really accurate, making it sound much more difficult to adhere to then what it actually is. Plus a contest diet is difficult often time because of it’s length. It’s barely been a week so far.

I do wish you luck though, Nez. I’m in the same boat as you, having to re-adjust my dietary habits. But I’m putting my full trust in Jake, and know if do what he says, I’ll be much more successful then I have been in the past.

misread the title and thought this thread was about a new type of heroin. Wondered what that had to do with lifting. Glad it’s another positive help a person out thread. Good luck!

I did the same thing and was very confused.

Dude, she had a freaking beer! Shes new to this you should all cut her some slack. A good coach adapts to his clients.

If you absolutely cannot live without a beer or cake then you must do the following.

Be fucking strict about your cheats. So… ONE BEER ONLY, OR A PORTION OF CAKE PREF PREPAKAGED SO YOU CANT EAT MORE. Only ever have one beer and piece of cake in the house at any time.

Heres the kicker. If you cheat, you must pay penance. So you can do 30 mins steady state cardio and some kettle bell swings as penance. Those are the rules, and if you cheat more than once a week (not including planned cheats) with those rules you need to get a grip!!!

At least you were honest! Most people would lie.

Offering to “train” someone and just give them the meal plan and expect them to follow it the freaking out when they don’t isn’t much of an offer at all. People need help, especially if you’re new to this it just doesn’t come naturally. I think the offer was pretty lame if all it takes is one small cheat for it to cave in.

If you paid a PT to help you and they told you to fuck off because you had one beer then you’d ask for your money back sharp.

Everyone, show some support!
