It’s at this point you’re supposed to complain that you only started growing facial hair later in life and you have too many financial responsibilities and no support from your government while all those foreign beard-growers started young and have had government support (financial and otherwise) their whole lives and are juiced to the gills to boot. Or just blame genetics, that works too.

WTF?

I was trying to make a joke comparing your woeful beard growing abilities to the excuses north american lifters make for sucking on the international stage. Apparently, it didn’t work.

Really?
Well, in the spirit this thread seemed to be going before the necrobump, I went clean shaven two weeks ago and am two weeks into the beard I will grow until November, at which point I will shave it down into a filthy mustache for Movember. Yes I know that’s cheating.
As for lifting, spent 5ish weeks after nationals just doing squats and have since been fat and weak in every lift except squats, and I’m signed up for a meet in three weeks. Not much time to get my shit together.

I have a possible meet on the 24th August. Hmmmm…I could do it…I haven’t competed since the April comp where I had a gift from the Gods of Weightlifting in gifting me a 145 CJ. The firs rand last time I’ve made it this year. I missed the British due to work commitments and it was nice going to support and not have to lift for once as well.
I could go full throttle and open up HEAVY and see if I make it bomb out :P. 122 150?! LOL
I was going to go to that same meet but I just started lifting again a couple of weeks ago and my lifting sucks much more than I thought. I signed up for it last year but then dropped a plate on my ankle a week and a half or so before the meet. My ankle is still screwed up from that brilliant move!
started training after one day of competion. Felt pretty tight and weak. Started with f/s went up to 115kg.
snatch fooled around with 60kg.
Felt slow.
Then moved to b/s gott pinned with 130. Pretty bad day. Time to shrugg it off and hard at it again.

Yah competion does take a lot out of me. Did front squat today went upto 120kg. Wasn’t a grinder at all. Did 6 sets of double with 60 kg in snatch. Then did 85 kg 1 pull and 1 clean and jerk. Still pretty tired today. Back. Squats tomorrow. Should be interesting

Yeah, I signed up last year, then was in terrible shape from working all the time and had to work anyway so dropped out. I was going to give you grief about not being healed up after a year, then remembered one of my ankles is less flexible than the other ever since I rolled it at a wrestling camp in Cuba maybe 5-6 years ago, and the knee that gives me the most grief during heavy training cycles is the same one I injured playing high school football.
Today was the first day since I finished my squat cycle (where I foolishly dropped everything except squats) where my pulls are actually starting to feel the way they’re supposed to, and I’m slowly getting less fat. Still only have 2.5 weeks to make weight, but the prognosis is improving. I was briefly up over 115 about a month ago.
Bs upto 132.5 for 2 singles. Fronts tomororow . I will do the lifts on Saturday after front squatting tomororow. Time to get those chcken legs stronger
Started with snatch Today 5 singles with 70. 1 single with 75. Lifts fell heavy of the floor. Legs tired from squatting yesterday. Front squatted to a single of 115. Felt heavy.
Did clean pulls after. Focused on 3s. Moved upto 120k. Overall an average day.
