Hips have been bugging me lately so I haven’t been in the gym much. I’ve managed to squat once every five days and get an oly session in that time as well. Most recent squat session:

Front Squat 5 singles at a 50X0 tempo (slow eccentric has been the only way I’ve been able to squat lately, everything else hurts)
105kg for 5 singles
73kg for 3 triples at a 32X0 tempo.

1llusion, can you PM me? mine doesnt seem to be working.

First competition at 62 (60 actual) back in December. Been training since July of last year.

78/80x/80
100/104/106x

Took too long in the bathroom and couldn’t get all my warm-ups in for the CJ. Ran out when I had 30 seconds left on the clock.

Was a bit nervous on the Snatch, since I never did above 72 (even in training) before.

Training for today:
Snatch DL off low blocks at the start then bs after the waves.

Snatch
60x3 / 65x3 / 70x2 [box]

30 seconds between sets, 2.5m between waves (80% ended up being 72 kilo, felt lighter than anything else)

Snatch then CJ
Wave 1 60x2 / 65x2 / 65x2 / 70x1
Wave 2 65x2 / 70x2 / 75x1 / 80x1
Wave 3 70x1 / 75x1 / 80x1

Another 150 clean, was terrible really. Was never going to jerk it but in my mind I thought I could.

Keep up the good work Ed. Remember that bet we were going to have? Well I think I partially tore my bicep, so, uh, bet’s on hold.

Sheeeeet. How’ve you done that? Hope it gets better soon.

Can’t say what my secret training is

I saw some lifters from his club at a comp. Apparently he is traveling at the mo. He still posts on pendlay I believe.
Yeah I was away for a good chunk of time.

Yeah, you’ll see him pop up on pendlayforum every now and then. Pretty infrequently though.

And I’m going to hazard a guess his “secret training” was either something inspired by Abadjiev/Woodhouse, or something a little off the wall. Either way it’s not something that particularly intrigues me.
Nothing by Abadjiev or Woodhouse.

Woodhouse taught me about understanding training frequency when not a full time athlete and less is more. FS first in a session. The SYYYYYYSTEM.

Abadjiev taught me to a multitude of things as well.

Equal pb from today. Got 110/130 no misses. Both equal pb for power moves. 130/150 shouldn’t be too far away on full lifts.
PS was huge!

WTF is going on with your PC CN?! PS 110 should be at least a 140! It’s weird as it should be higher. I guess my PS is low as I never PS.

It’s interesting to note our differences.

My bests were 108 145 and this makes 130 158 (167.5 cn)

Koing, my clean form is awful…that is why. You at the English? We’re lifting same session I think

Did you not see the provisional start list?

Yeah, sure I saw your name on it. Was just checking you were still doing it. I remeber the provisional start list varying quite a lot from the actual comp last year.

I was throwing a Christmas tree. Went to pop it off the back of my dad’s truck into the recycle pile and my little brother says “Bet you can’t throw it over that fence.” Asshole.

I actually don’t know if I tore it, never actually saw anybody (yeah, yeah, still young and stupid over here) but it never bruised up and it’s only tightened/shortened up a tad, and that was over the last couple days. Pain’s been migrating into my forearm (forearm muscles compensating for the bicep, I figure). It’s already a lot better, when I did it (3? 4? weeks ago now) it was excruciating trying to wipe my ass for about 48 hours afterwards, but last weekend I did 120/150 in competition to get my national qualifying standard in. It hurt, but now I’ve got lots of time to rest and heal it up. Need to actually get in and see a physio or acupuncturist or something though, and accelerate the recovery process.

Whereabouts currently unknown, my friend. I’ve been doing a lot of heavy squatting/deadlifting lately, but not so much of the Olifts. How is your training going?

Had a very good meet today. Lifted in the 94s (weighed in at 88.5) and went 5/6. Hit a few PRs!

and the lifts in slow mo for anyone interested:

Did battle with koing at the English today, bw: 92.9. Heaviest ever.

Did 115/120x120x both were close though. Then 140/145x/145 pressout on the jerk for second Cj. All in all 260 total, qualified for my first British championships, 298 Sinclair and second place.

Always a pleasure to see koing at comps, really nice guy!
