Hey guys, been following this thread for a while, lots of good stuff going on in here! Finally had something I wanted to share.

A long time ago, probably 5+ years, I set a long-term, lifetime lifting goal to someday bench press 2x bodyweight, squat 2.5x, and deadlift 3x. Got the deadlift first, then the bench, and yesterday I got the squat! Feels pretty great, and I guess it’s time to make some new goals. As for actual numbers, my morning weight was 167 yesterday and I’ve benched 350, deadlifted 555, and yesterday I squatted 425.
Nice! Sorry for the dumb question, but how tall are you?
Not dumb at all, quite relevant lol I’m 5’8. I realize all that “bench 2x bodyweight, squat 2.5x, and deadlift 3x bodyweight” talk sounded more impressive until I said I was 167 pounds, but I’m still quite happy with it.
Those are serious accomplishments. I don’t think you realize how good they are. Ever consider doing a PL meet? If you’re walking around at 167, you wouldn’t even have to do a cut to compete as a 165. Those would be classified as ‘elite’ in several raw federations, and even by USPA standards, they’re almost elite. That’s huge man.

Hey thanks a lot man I appreciate the kind words. I actually did decide to compete, there’s a meet in my city in July that I’ve signed up for. It’ll be good to have a more concrete goal I’m training for for the next six months.
Wow that’s impressive. Congrats on achieving your PR goals. You’re making some of the big guys feel like pussies with those numbers. Good luck in your upcoming competition. Keep us posted and some videos of those lifts would be interesting to watch.

As for me,

@178lbs

Bench - 275
Squat - 365
Deadlift - 410

Dude, there are plenty of 200lbs guys who couldn’t beat your numbers.
< Like this guy

Squat PRs: 3x130kg and 10x110kg.

Hit a paused PR today warming up for my work sets. 320 lbs with a morning weigh in of 165.4 lbs. Might have heaved a touch on further video inspection though. Felt super light, like I had about 15 lbs in me. 320 lbs paused - YouTube

Why’s this only the 3rd bench session in 6 months? Injury, or just doing other stuff?
Golfer’s elbow.

Do your pre-hab. Don’t get tendonitis. It sucks and never seems to go away. After months of stretches, active rest, wrapping the tendon, anti-inflammatories, etc., etc., etc., I was only able to get it down to the point where it’s manageable. I still have a little bit of pain more often than not. But I can do most things without it turning into a lot of pain. I’ve had to change my grip on some things (like my bench now is very narrow). But I’m happy with that.

Also, hit some decent HB ATG squats (belted). It’s nice to see something lower body coming up. Hit 4 x 5 x 140kg, then 7 x 140kg. Last rep was a bit slow, but probably had another rep or two in me.

315 deadbench from chest

Comp style bench : 4 x 5 x 97.5kg, 6 x 97.5kg

Incline 185x14

455x1 squat. 20 lbs PR. Had at least 465 in me, wasn’t too slow. Bodyweight 183.

First Post bc I like to lurk, will submit for self motivation:

Monday 2/2/15 hit two PRs: Slight Incline DB Bench Press: 120’s x 12 w/ Pause at bottom (JM style); OHP 195 x 5

Current Stats: 26, 5’7", 198.7 @ approx. 12-13% BF

I feel your pain on this, mine has come back with vengeance since I’ve started low bar back squatting again actually. Truly does suck, especially because it’s not a ‘real’ injury in my eyes, but it sure as hell gets in the way

Deadlifts - 180kg x 2 double overhand easy
200kg x 12 belted and strapped

Floor press 205 x 12

Did 330 paused on bench today.

your strength:bodyweight ratio is ludicrous

Overhead press: 127x4

Pretty awesome dude. I’m just starting to do paused bench for the first time, as I’ll obviously need to be able to do that for a PL meet. Comin for ya (I’m a ways behind though)!

I still do most of my reps TnG, but obviously in a comp you have to pause. Good luck man, you are strong.

Squat 345x2

Power snatch hang snatch: 75kg
Clean: 100x2
and I finally pulled 405lbs.
