brah, exquisite form on that heavy ass weight. nice

After a week of acclimating to the instability, finally managed a few good sets of 5 dips on the rings.

300X10 competition style belted squat

Weighted dips 35X8 for 3 sets
strict lat pull downs 160X12

Some PR’s from my body day. I am gonna be happy once I start making the stack (200 pounds) my bitch for strict lat pull downs. haha

full stack+2x10kilo dumbells on top. Rope tricep pushdowns. 14 reps with good form.

New 8 rep max on bench today at 295! After doing 5 sets of 4 at that weight, the 6th was AMRAP and hit 8.

Nice. Your deadlifts just keep flying up.

That’s it, I am going to become a bench specialist (jk).

Nice pull, your lifts don’t seem to ever stall.

Pffft, tell that to my bench. Thanks though boys. Don’t get too excited though, I’m great at repping out deadlifts and then maxing out nowhere near my estimated potential. Case in point, my heaviest single ever is 230kg, and it was slow, but next week I’m expecting to pull 200kg for 10 pretty easily.

How much are you benching? I should be taking 300+ lbs for a ride in a few weeks.

Also, I used to have the same issue of being able to rep out a lot more than my estimated max. It may have something to do with the equation your are using, if you are taking a shit load of breaths between reps, or if you just don’t lift near your max very often.

Talking about repping out deads: I’m gonna go try to pull 360X8-10 beltless.

Beltless Conventional deadlifts 360X8

First got 120kg last April, didn’t get the chance to bench much over summer and made no progress, made 120kg paused in a mock meet late November, and have now shifted to a flat footed style so I need to work back up again. Giving it the same sort of treatment as my deads at the moment, since frequency and fancy percentages has never helped it much - so twice a week, one day as many reps at a significant weight as possible, then volume, then the next week as the third exercise after ohp and incline, just to build some weaker muscles up.
The deads are done deadstop with a single breath between reps, maybe a couple where I gather myself for a few seconds. I trained them high rep over the summer and got to 200kg x 10 with a belt (that will fall beltless next week), but after peaking them over a couple of months with linear progression stalled at 220kg. I figure that whether high reps are the best thing for my 1 rep max or not, I enjoy doing them and progress well on them without getting injured, so I’m not too fussed.

Nice job on your deads  if I remember right I’ve got a pretty significant weight advantage over you up here at 225lbs

Thanks, I am about 183-185 at the moment. I am looking at about a 465+ pull with a belt when it is time to test then just show up to a meet after six weeks of lots of block pulls and GHR’s. I think getting my block pull within 100 pounds of my max will help with the whole sucking at the top issue I have at the moment.

Also, wanna post a video of your benching (if you haven’t already) with 90+% of your max? Maybe I can help you with it.

7 Mat Pulls w/35lb Chains
360 x 5 (was 355 x 5; but have done 365 x 4)

New 5RM regardless.
