New PR's Part 2

One thing I find really helps out is cuing pulling the bar into my back. I find a lot of people (at one point, me included) seem to think of their hands as pushing up on the bar while you squat. It makes sense in a way. I mean, you want the bar to move up. But I found that way of thinking very counterproductive to keeping back tightness. I find that trying to pull the bar downwards and into my back, while squeezing my traps, engages all of the muscles of the upper back and helps keep me tight.

Also take a vid from the side and make sure that the bar is over your heels.

My work for the day:

OHP: 67kg x 5 (after 7 triples at 67kg)
Incline DB bench: 85lbs x 10

I never did this

This was a milestone. Bodyweight 190.

that was amazing.

225X10 Ultra wide sumo SLDL off of floor, was four reps short of getting 3 sets of 10
bwX13 GHR with hands on chest (I believe this is a PR, I’ll have to go check)
175X4 suitcase deadlift

I checked out that thing called a leg press… It seems pretty awesome for quads, but worthless for everything else. With that being said, I’ll probably do them once every 4 or so weeks as a quad accessory exercise.

Nice job on that 315x20. I just got it for 10 myself, 20 is my next goal.

Squatted 180kg for 5 beltless after 4 doubles
Squat 212.5kg easy, failed at 220kg a week later

Deadlift 230kg

FlipCollar is my hero.

No homo.

cough I did the same… Amount of reps, that is. With 65. Still a rep PR.

Damn I feel so weak in this thread, but oh well, progress is progress

I haven’t posted in a bit but these are my new PR’s, not as big as i would like, but i constantly undereat. :frowning:
315 deadlift. Did this on two different days, second time was much easier (Double BW).
300 deadliftx5
145 Power clean.
245 Squat3x5 fairly easy. Working on that depth.
Bench press and Overhead press are both constantly stalling.
I’ll have some form videos up soon
156-160 bodyweight.

Fucking Finally

Been a long while since I’ve posted on T-Nation.

But I’ve hit a lot of PRs:

I’ve snatched 83kg
C&J’d 110kg
hit a 90kg push press.
Those are the big ones

Beastly, Reed!

Pressed 150lbs for 4 after doing it for 5x3 today.

315X3 snatch grip deadlift
245X5 bent over row
60X15 one leg SLDL

DB bench 85’sX9

kroc rows 135X30

Pr’s today from my rep bench. My bench wasn’t that good (only hit 235X6) so no bench PR.

365X2 competition stance squat
135X12 barbell step ups
one arm DB swings 85X5
back extensions 25X23

PR’s from today. With the PR’s I got it’s hard to say I had a bad day even though anything that could go wrong did. (short of me passing out or getting injured I mean)

5 consecutive chins (neutral grip), despite gaining 5 lbs.

Prolly could have gotten this 6-8 weeks ago, but I was just sticking to the program. Ironically, I’m turning my focus away from lats and am just doing chins more to preserve the strength and skill that’s there.

High bar squat 200kg x 1

220kg deadlfit for 3

Wide sumo deadlift 385X2, 405X1 I have no idea about how big these PR’s are, but I am pretty sure the 385 was a 35 pound PR for a double, and the 405 was probably a 40 pound PR compared to deadlifts sumo deadlifts without shoes that add an inch to my pull

strict conventional stance good mornings 185X10 for five sets (big ass volume PR)

fat grip dead hang chin ups 25X8, 30X6

Some PR’s from my deadlift day, I think it was some pretty good shit.
