LOL. I know that many around here don’t like to admit that 'roid rage happens, but I think Tyson would have pulled it off.

The point is why would a person with far above average genetics and talent want to be a bodybuilder? There is very little money in it, when you factor in the food and drugs needed to compete.
So, what you are saying is that genetically gifted bodybuilders are inherently “lazy” bodybuilders, because they do not have to really “suffer” that much to get in shape?..(For example, a Gaspari vs. a Mike Christian or Bob Paris), or did I misunderstand you?

no they work just as hard and end up being the best. What im saying is other athletes with above average genetics would rather use their talents in a sport where the money is at, like football for example.

Shizen is right. Although the irony is mind blowing: Once the best paid sports millionaire, now considered a disrespectable, psychotic thug who’s so busted.

I saw him at a yogurt store about a month ago and even though I was a little scared to stare, he looked a little tubby. Just thought I’d chime in.
Did you see him at PinkBerry by any chance? I have a friend who lives in LA and she said that she saw him at PinkBerry eating yogurt, so I didn’t know if it was the same shop.
My friend said the same thing, a little chubby, but still had big arms and looked intimidating.
And I agree with the OP. He would have been a beast of a bodybuilder! Tyson always wore black trunks for boxing, so you know he would always wear black posing trunks for stepping on stage.[/quote]
HAHAH yeah it was pinkberry! I was eating yogurt and my cousin wispered to me not to turn around and that mike tyson was right behind me. I didn’t believe him but when I turned around seeing his face tattoo was pretty freaky lol. He was still big , maybe 230 pounds but at a higher bf %.
Tysons limits as a boxer would have been his limits as a bodybuilder…lack of discipline and being mentally weak would have held him back at any athletic endeavour.
Really, the guy was not that good. His trainers realised that his brawling style would have a short life so they pushed him into the pro’s very early.
He was champ of a HW division that was historically weak, when George Foreman ( now over 40 ) made his comeback Tyson and his handlers were terrified of him.
Then Tyson lost his title to a nobody.
Eventually, when Tyson started to age and his reflexes slowed, he sucked as a boxer, he sucked as a brawler, and he was mentally and emotionally shot.
In retrospect, Tyson was vastly inferior to Ali and Foreman, and he would have had a hell of a time in a HW division with Shavers, Norton, or Liston.
I wouldn’t say he had lack of discipline, their were a lot of factors that lead to his rapid successions and collapse. He was extremely gifted-a SHORT fighter who was one of the best- He was VERY dominate in his prime but off the mat issues lead what could have been one of the best careers to a disaster.

Mike = overrated.

Wow. It’s hard to compare boxing ages because of their vast differences, but Tyson being overrated?
In a fight between Ali vs Tyson (both in their Prime), I’d bet my money on Tyson, no doubt.

Tommy Morrison beat George Foreman. Mike Tyson could easily beat Morrison, so I am pretty sure that Tyson and his handlers were NOT terrified of Foreman.
And as always anything about tyson turns into a who would beat who debate.
Tysons discipline to training was unbelieveable. From watching what happened in his career such as ear biting it would be easy to assume otherwise I suppose.
As for mental toughness…that was demonstrated in his lewis fight when he took an ass whooping of the highest order and wouldn’t quit.
All in all effingoof, contrary to your screen name I don’t think your a fool or anything, but maybe you should learn more about boxing before highlighting boxers weaknesses.

Thank you. Nowadays when Wladamir Klitchko fights a top 10 fighter it’s called a farce, but when Tyson KO’ed a washed up group of contendors he was “the most devastating fighter ever”. Mike was good, but so vastly overrated anymore it’s hilarious. He never would have stood up to Holyfield and Lewis even when he was in his supposed prime.
I have to go with Ali over Tyson. I don’t know if I would say Tyson was overrated but I don’t think he would hang with the best of all time. He was a devastating puncher and a student of the game but he fought in a weak era.

What I find interesting about the photo you posted is Tyson having a tatoo of communist Che Guevara, who was openly racist in his attitude toward Black people…Bizarre…
Now how many dumbass college kids who hand a poster of Che on their dormroom wall, or skinny fat scenester boys who wear a Che T-shirt know anything about the man?
And no offense to Bodybuilders, but I would take “Heavy Weight Champion of the World” over “Mr Olympia” any day.
tyson has some of the biggest legs in boxing, calves included.as you other fans would know not many pure boxers have much leg development, personally i believe its why he could generate so much power.hollyfield has an extremely impressive torso but his legs are underwhelming

Even more bizarre is Cassius Clay was named after a famous abolitionist and he took the name Muhammad Ali who was an infamous slave trader.
It’s practically a shit-thread highlight: Steroids, Bruce Lee, Rickson by an armbar and outrageous “true” routines with an amount of repetitions that would even ashame Joe Weider.
Mike probably trained using old school routines. He was genetically gifted, strong and dedicated to his training (in his early years). His weak mind, however, was his downfall.
Tyson wasn’t overated, he was undertrained. After D’amato died, and Don King got ahold of him, all of his potential was wasted. King got rid of all of D’amato’s trainers and brought in his own people. If Tyson hadn’t have let King mindfuck him we’d be talking about the most dominant heavyweight of all time. And as to the physique, my pop [who boxed and trained] always said that Tyson was the purest mesomorph he’d ever seen. Look at pictures of him in his late teens early twenty’s. 5’9 220 with less than 8 % bf. A god damned freak.
