… still pushing natty bodybuilding on social media sites.

Thoughts?
Fake plates. Trust me.
Love his dog though.
For my own self-esteem, I hope those plates are fake haha
I think the guy is cool but after seeing those fake plates… he’s not so cool anymore…
When you think about it, shoulder pressing 200 odd kilo with a “I’m taking a monster shit face on” looks so stupid
My apologies, here’s the real picture.
Cool points restored!
I like O’Hearn. He recently did an arms training video with Steve Cook and he seems like an intense guy who would be an awesome training partner.
The whole claiming natty vs assisted thing for public figures in the fitness industry is a mere formality. Being a little older and more mature now I realize this. They can’t openly claim steroid use for sponsors and endorsements. Anyone who’s somewhat knowledgable knows what’s really going on and can look past it for the actual training/nutrition tips and knowledge that can be gained.
Too much time is wasted on the negative, let’s focus on what can be learned and encourage one another. We are all in the same “boat” here with wanting to build/strengthen our bodies and minds.
I like how he is not just big but is also pretty strong. I don’t know if he truly follows a powerbuilding template but it sure as hell made an impression on me. Also seems like a pretty cool dude.
I could care less if he is natty or not. He just cannot really admit to steroids being how he is in the natural bodybuilding hall of fame. I know that probably does not mean shit to most people but I figure they probably pay him to keep his mouth shut on top of all his other endorsements.
It’s one thing to not admit it. It’s another to come out and say you are natural when not asked and say that when others say one uses, it’s not because they are knowledgable and understand to reach a certain size drugs are needed, but because they are lazy and ignorant. Fact is, many people say some use because they are not ignorant but rather aware of what it takes to reach a certain level.
I know he’s admitted to using pro-hormones (for whatever that’s worth), but I’m not opposed to believing he’s just a complete genetic freak.

He’s a genetic freak, enormously dedicated, and aided.

Saw that. He might be cheesy but is bull strong -repping 4 plates on reverse grip bench with pre-exhausted tris was insane.
I’ve always liked O’Hearn. I remember reading profiles of the guy when I first started lifting, and hearing about his dyslexia, and then how he went on to excel at Judo, Powerlifting, and Bodybuilding made quite an impression on me. He’s also done quite well makaing a living for himself in a sport where most people can’t. Of course for someone who has never stepped onstage as an IFBB pro, that’s even more remarkable.
Having seen a good number of videos on the guy, you can tell that he is very passionate about his training, seems like a relatively fun dude, and has no doubt inspired a good number of people over the years. He also does a lot of charity stuff, which I will add, always earns respect from me.
Do I think he’s clean? Nope. Of course that’s MY opinion I’m expressing, and others can either agree or disagree with me. Someone can train any way they want, and it’s certainly no skin off my back.
What I believe triggered this thread, and of course the “is he clean?” issue, is the man’s recent FB status about how:
(typos and spelling mistakes are his, not mine)
“Steroids are now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy or girl that has more muscle or stength and dedicated then them - MIchael O’Hearn (4x natural Mr. universe, National powerlifting champion and world record holder, California Judo Champion American gladiator.”
S
^^that quote is pretty accurate though lol
A lot of people are quick to call “roidz” on anyone who is bigger, stronger or looks better than they do… that’s my go to move
My absolute favorite is when people accuse me of taking gear. I’m always replying “Thanks!” Of course, it’s never other lifters saying that LOL
He’s as clean as Kali Muscle. To succeed in this industry, it is vital to be hush-hush about PEDs. They’re illegal. Why would anyone want to sacrifice their livelihood in order to satisfy some haters? By “telling the truth?” Anyone who’s worth their salt knows that he’s not natural. It should only be a problem if his “lies” and successes are causing trouble for them personally. Which I don’t believe they are. Bodybuilding and the fitness industry generally is more of a modeling and marketing affair. Selling an image and the promise of progress if you listen to what someone has to say (or buy what they hock). If we are looking for a, um, wholesome sport… this isn’t it.
Well, you can’t argue with the fact that in the fitness model industry he’s the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be .

QFT ^
Fake dog.
To be that strong and big at that level of BF is a combination of genetics, hardwork and what GH15 refers to as hormones.
