Good point! I wonder why more people haven’t brought this up. Not only was he strong and naturally muscular at an early age, but also had long muscle bellies (particualrily his biceps).

He probably still had the best boxing physique of all time.

I saw him at a yogurt store about a month ago and even though I was a little scared to stare, he looked a little tubby. Just thought I’d chime in.

He had an awesome physique, no doubt about that.
You have to remember, as a boxer he focussed a lot on endurance work, which in some cases is pretty much the opposite of muscle-building.
Had he focussed on hypertrophy, he might have been the best bodybuilder of all times.

Ears are a great source of bioavailable protein.

yes, but they must be cook to be fully bioavailable.

I think he would have been a great bodybuilder. Raw ears and young children are an excellent protein sources. And clearly here is a man dedicated to not missing a meal, even stopping during a fight to make sure he gets his protein.

I’ve thought that myself. I wondered how training for boxing could give him such size?I think it’s safe to assume he didn’t train like a bodybuilder or eat like a bodybuilder and I’m also sure he did a shitload of endurance work…you know the type that we’re told over and over not to do because it’ll eat away all your muscle? And yet the guy was sporting 218 lbs of solid muscle mass on a 5’11" frame.

Did you see him at PinkBerry by any chance? I have a friend who lives in LA and she said that she saw him at PinkBerry eating yogurt, so I didn’t know if it was the same shop.

My friend said the same thing, a little chubby, but still had big arms and looked intimidating.

And I agree with the OP. He would have been a beast of a bodybuilder! Tyson always wore black trunks for boxing, so you know he would always wear black posing trunks for stepping on stage.

I wonder if there’s any data out there about his T levels. If he had supplemented can you imagine the trouble he would have gotten into?

Yeah! …you got a point. Pretty solid build for someone who doesn’t lift weights. Floor exercises were Mike’s exercise of choice. Hmmmmm …looks liked it worked to me.

I would say 5’8" at best. I’m 5’9"-5’10" and he was shorter than me when I met him a few times.

Which one pays more?

Why would he even think of being a bodybuilder when he possesses such talent?

How many people know who Jay Cutler is? Now compare that to how many people know who Iron Mike is.

Impressive physique, but I don’t think any better then Foreman in his prime, Ali, Ken Norton, Lenox Lewis, Evander Holyfield.

D

Current pic of Mr. Tyson. Looks pretty big. Great boxer!

Another pic!

Don’t many heavyweights have the same potential? Here’s Frank Bruno, beaten by Tyson back in 96. Big arms and lats. guess many others would look impressive too.

Hmm. On the other hand, bodybuilders don’t worry about brain damage unless they try doing 300-lbs. skullcrushers on a dare.
