🥇 Community Challenge: Loaded Carry + Push-Up Ladder

The Prizes

First two people to film themselves attempting this (pass or fail) gets a free item of T Nation apparel (US48 only). Anything you want.

The Challenge

Do a descending ladder of push-ups with 25-yard farmers walks in between. Weight on the trap bar is roughly your body weight. You can also use equivalent-weight dumbbells.

• Carry the trap bar or dumbbells for about 25 yards (25 good paces stepped off), then do 10 push-ups.

• Carry the bar back 25 yards, then do 9 push-ups.

• Carry the bar 25 yards, then do 8 push-ups.

• Repeat the pattern, working your way down to a single rep. You’ll accumulate 55 push-ups and cover about 225 yards by the end.

If your chest gets tired, you can alternate between standard and hand-release push-ups.

Here’s Dani Shugart (@Dani_Shugart) doing it:

No access to equipment for this one haha!
That’s my excuse. What’s yours?

Your sandbag would make an excellent alternative

I live in Texas and don’t have an indoor place to do carries. NO way I am doing push ups in the grass burrs!

Yes! Ill do this. I’m not near it for the next several days but will do it!
Lol the 100, not the 200, because I’d die!
(There’s a backstory here. I posted a video for a pushup challenge and won a Tshirt. The thread… devolved.)

I’ll do it this afternoon, but have to use a yoke or 100lb med ball.

Equipment subs are cool. Dumbbells, sandbags, heavy medballs, yokes, etc. I’ve done a variation of this with a 100-pound IronGrip plate (two handed carry on chest). Wicked.

BTW, a “hidden” challenge here is the 10 reps of deadlifts. It’s light, but adds another element to the walks and push-ups.

Not flaking, had BJJ this morning, pool late morning into early afternoon and then it stayed pouring out of nowhere. I’ll hit it in morning.

Blockquote

Threw my 45lb weight vest on and had some fun in backyard while kids were playing.

Had so much fun I did it again, but substituted squats for pushups. That had the added fun of not putting the med ball down.

Well done! Kept up the hustle with the kids round too.

I edited it down to a short, the longer version is on my YouTube as well. HD is still processing so the quality is kinda shit, lol. I used 113 per hand (226) and I’m sitting at a nice soft 225 so so it was perfect.
