🥇 Community Challenge: One-Arm Hang

One-Arm-Hang

The Prizes (two of them!)

• First person to film themselves attempting this gets a free item of T Nation apparel (US48 only).

• First person to hit 90 seconds or more also gets a prize!

The Challenge

Hang from a bar with one hand for as long as you can. That’s it.

Remember, two prizes are up for grabs. First person to submit their attempt wins, and the first person to hit 90 seconds wins!

The Rational

This grip challenge comes from T Nation coach Al Kavadlo. He says:

  1. 30 seconds on each arm demonstrates better than average pound-for-pound grip strength and is also a great indicator of shoulder health and overall fitness.

  2. 60 seconds per arm is an excellent goal to shoot for and something most people will be able to accomplish with consistent practice. If you achieved this on your first attempt, you’ve obviously been putting in some serious work with your strength training.

  3. 90 seconds on each side demonstrates an elite level of pound-for-pound grip strength. Very few will achieve this on their initial attempts, though with consistent practice it’s certainly possible.

All the details HERE.

Not going to be the first to jump on this one to give others a fair shot and I’m glad cause this one looks brutal :joy:

I just tried this, not going to post the vid or try to claim the prize though. I SUCKED.
Also i never claimed my shirt from last time. Keep forgetting to check if they’re in stock.

Try this, people.
I wonder if the direction you naturally rotate says anything about imbalances… i kept rotating away from the hanging shoulder. Expected to rotate into it.

Made it just over a minute. Really thought I’d get the full shebang but my hand started opening up pretty quick on me.

Thanks dude!

I tried this briefly before my lifting session today. Managed about 5 seconds each hand before I decided to stop, lest my hand or shoulder breaks.

5 seconds is better than the last time I attempted this, when I failed to hold at all!

Still looking give away the 90-second prize!

I tried it. Tougher than it looks on paper, for sure.

Nice job mr.v3! You made the minute look easy.
