Can you even do the moves that he does? Can you moonwalk? Can you breakdance? Could you do it on stage in front of hundreds of people?

So many haters on this forum.
I cant dunk a basketball but I’m not a fan the sport, either. Are people not allowed to state their opinions unless they possess certain skills?

I agree with these sentiments.

Celtics, stop, you are making an ass out of yourself. Bonez is not being ‘uncivil’ in anyway, you are just being a douche (uh-oh, am I being uncivil?).

the difference being that Sarevok said that what kai was doing (dancing during the posing routine) is stupid

and bones said that he although he couldnt dunk, he doesnt like basketball — note that he didnt call it a stupid sport or activity

that is the difference.

You will read what you want to read, though.

I’m not a “troll”.

Also, I don’t think that trolling trolling means what you think it means. Trolling does not mean always telling untruths. It can also mean telling truths in a way that attracts attention.

It comes from the fishing term, troll bait where fishermen move their lines in a way to capture certain types of fish.

Here is the link. Trolling (fishing) - Wikipedia

Again, I am not a troll. Here, I just defended Kai’s posing but it turned into some big thing.

If I take the forum posters as a sample, by mere politics Kai wouldn’t get to the top in the O.

…which means some here are not even judging “physique” but rather if they feel comfortable watching him perform in relation to whether he wins or not.

pfft, since when has bodybuilding been about physiques?

if you all cannot discern the difference between a PR driven/fun/self expressive “off season guest posing routine” vs something he’ll do at the O or the Arnold, well then, there is not much hope for you.

yes, flex is a bit bubble gum compared to md, but kai is doing the right thing signing w/ weider. why be part of a team who’s just brought the 2009 mr. o on board. the too many cooks in the kitchen ideology is the case now at md.

Phil didn’t get robbed either, he was better conditioned but that doesn’t mean he beat mr. greene. phil wouldn’t, shouldn’t, and cannot beat kai 9 out of 10 outings.

you’re not giving Phil enough credit.

Agreed. Cyruseven and Professor X are acting as if bodybuilding is purely objective when this is no where near the reality. I’d have Phil beating Kai just about every time but I understand that won’t happen, either.

I feel that Phil did get robbed because he’s more aesthetic and came in with better conditioning.

I mean, I think Phil is going to end up shafted and losing a lot. No offense to anyone, but if Branch beat Dex last year… No way on earth is that set of judges going to give Phil a win over Kai, especially now that Kai signed with the winning team.

I like Phil a fuck ton, and honestly root for him, but… I just don’t think he will get what he deserves. But I’m a jaded old bastard, I could be wrong.

Everybody and their mother were once saying how Vic Martinez would surely win the O… Anytime now… Hmm, he got injured, but he’ll come back… Oh, Cutler won?..

Dex’ win was even kind of an anomaly imo, as he’s the same as guys like Levrone, Victor and Flex Wheeler… Great, very symmetric/aesthetic physiques (well, imo Victor is hampered by his triceps and waist), and with the potential to win… But they just never, ever win the O. They’re the big thing for a while, but eventually they’re just sort of expected to step on stage with minimal or no improvements made, look great as always, and get overlooked as always because they’ve been there for too long already and just didn’t manage a breakthrough.

Heath may end up in that corner too… I hope not, but it’s possible… Pretty sure Vic won’t ever get out of it again, unless he makes some sort of miracle improvement/change/just come in in such perfect condition that he’ll blow everyone away (must be a “different” look compared to his usual, though).

Dex won the one year where he actually appeared to have put on some 10 pounds or so and all went straight to his back. I.e., the one time in recent history that he changed in some way… The line-up was sufficiently close that this one change (imo) made the judges notice him more.

Quite a few of the decisions made in recent years sure make it seem like striations on the glutes/low back/hams are what decides who takes first vs second, not physique…

I dont think i ever agreed with any of jay’s wins, but thats just me…

ahh the politics…its fooked over so many possible champions that its not even funny.

BULLSHIT. He isn’t. He is one of the most personable and maybe even one of the most memorable historically, but the greatest bodybuilder? What the fuck?

Flex Wheeler at his best standing next to Arnold would leave Arnold in the dust.

Flex just isn’t a household name.

Arnold is the most popular. Popularity does not mean you actually physically beat everyone else who ever crossed a stage.

Arnold would have a hard time even winning an NPC contest today with the competition that is out there.
LMAO @ hard time winning NPC contest today, you find me one competitor with a better upper body that isn’t on 10x the juice that Arnold was on.

Having bigger legs than arnold, better shoulders (yes, even without synthol… Arnie’s were a real weak point save in 1-2 pics where he was pumped to the max) and more backthickness isn’t exactly a major feat anymore… Biceps on the other hand would be difficult, and he had a great chest too… As for gear dosages… I’m sure you know exactly what Arnold took, and what everyone in the NPC today uses… Seriously.

It’s pointless to even compare physiques of different eras. When I say pointless, I mean there is absolutely no point just in case anyone doesn’t realize what I mean.

like comparing graphics of a nintendo to a ps3.

Just to add to this too, humungo legs were not the ideal in 60’s-70’s, back also wasn’t a huge focus. In the end Arnold had the perfect physique for his era, it’s actually shameful that he is being disgraced on these forums, the shit is retarded, all in all, as an individual, Arnold is the most successful person that has been a bodybuilder, and a damn good bodybuilder at that.

Agreed, and to take it a step further, if bigger legs and a bigger back were the standards of the era, I think Arnold would have had bigger legs and a bigger back.
