Yesterday I was learning the power clean and I felt pretty good about the motions. My school gym doesn’t have rubber plates so I have to catch the weight as I let it down. When I do this, it hurts my wrists like crazy since the weight is too heavy for them (it’s only 135 pounds).
So today I have a nagging pain in that area and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions about what to do. I really like the power clean but I don’t think it’s worth it to keep messing up my wrists.

Don’t let the weight fully accelerate and fall down into your straight arms.
Try to control the ascend by bending the arms a little and slow down the bar. (think of a reverse upright row). But careful though NOT to try to ‘catch’ the bar with bended arms, its quite easy to tear your bicep from that position). Also, don’t stiffen your back/shoulders, but don’t lean forward too much as well (bad for your lumbar spinal region)
Most important, do no curl your wrists, not even slightly, when you arms are nearly/fully extended. The bar should be in near perfect alignment with your forearm.
