Also, what ARE your goals these days?
I’m [pretty] certain bodybuilder or fitness model isn’t your goal.
So, what are your goals, and what kind of lifting and diet plan are you following to reach it? Genuinely curious.

Well in a few days i will turn 55. My goals are being happy and healthy. Last dec.27 i started gym training regularly to get a little stronger and add a little muscle. It is just 1 way to kind of stay young and putting odds on my side to maintain my quality of life.
I inherited genes to live about 95, being slim and flexible. My numbers are real small but they are the best in my lifetime. About 34 years ago i ran 2 marathons with very limited training. At 25 i was 5 11.5 at 125 lbs and jogging with a 80 pounds canoe or heavy packsacks. I love the outdoors so i pretty much have been allways active. For the last 11 years without a car i bicycle 365 days a year wich is unusual with our cold/snow.
I am happy the way i am now and could likely maintain it with 30 min. 6 x weekly. I train about 6 x 60 min. so i hope to improve a little(stronger and or muscle size). About 21 years ago i choosed to kind of half retire. I work a little, and live with little $. What we need is very little and i opted out of the rat race.
I eat a little horse meat, some oysters,
greens lentils, black peas, lots a vegetables, a few fruits. About 0.75 gram of protein per pound of body weight, quality carbs, mostly raw fats, maybe 1 egg daily on average(often added to a soup or stew just before eating my bowl), 3 walnuts, i bresilian nut, occasionally a few almonds, a little olive oil.
Searching for alkaline foods might fill in what i forgot. It is about focusing on quality, freshly grounded black pepper, sea salt, turmeric, apple cider vinegar.
PM me for any specific ? you might have.
All the best !
OK i knew i was forgeting something, i pretty much allways use upper/lower split.
About 5 weeks ago i started the thread Serge Nubret Pump Training wich i had titled pumping and helping before i guess some moderator edited it. I have been using most of the principles and lots of people helped me to digest this huge meal, i had never done anything close to that.
I do less volume, still my evercises mostly and my upper low split. I just love it but i alternate short rest/regular rest a bit like Chad Waterbury suggest train frequently and vary loads. The cool thing about small muscles the recovery is fast. The lifter area with 531 is not for me and you guessed it i am no BB. I just try to learn.
You started a thread called “pumping and helping”? Gee, I wonder why they changed the name.
flipcollar i appologize for not answering your ?
It is such a huge topic i can talk about it for days. The short version after maybe 2 years of trying many many different approaches to healthy eating i discovered that a big bunch of blinds are fallowing a bunch of blinds.

for that you won my funniest post of the day award. I had no clue it had 2 meanings !
About ###, i am too wise to post any.
Posting small ## i will be named a fool.
Posting average ## i will be called egotistical posting about nothing.
Posting big ## i will be asked for video proof and i have no cell phone, no camera and plan to stay like that for the next 40 years.
If you are real curious earlier i started a different thread with ##.

Ok, if you really are 55, you should know better about posting numbers here.
If you post small numbers, people will laugh at the thread title, and then give you serious, and appropriate advice. Which is what I believe I did, for your level.
If you post average numbers, you will get advice that’s a bit more advanced, and there will still be chuckles at the thread title.
If you post big numbers, you would indeed be asked for video proof, because most people, yes, even here, inflate their gym numbers. The humble, or even just honest individual is not all too common, as pertains to gym numbers.
Also, while I can appreciate your lifestyle of minimalism, and the mindset behind it…but if you own a computer, and have internet access, why not a camera? I can totally see not wanting a cell phone…the monthly bills, constant breaking, etc etc. But I’ve had the same camera I use for my progress pics, videos, vacations, etc, for over 2 years. It only cost me $120, and still works like new, with zero maintenance. Not to mention, I highly doubt, no, I KNOW, that you’re not advanced enough that the numbers you throw out here, if honest, would elicit a “vids or it didn’t happen” response.
hungry4more you are smart. I will be 55 years in 5 days. My # are small. The thread was not meant to be about me. It was a question why that big a difference. I do not remember asking for advice in this thread. I switched program, started using only my left upper (non dominant side) to rest my right shoulder for healing. And it was hard to pinpoint where my results were coming from. Since my healthy lower body seems to progress slowly, now it seems my neural connection made a big difference. When i did the OP i was hoping to get help to understand.
Cheers !
