Why Am I So Strong?

I was not going after PR’S, they were chasing me.
Anyone selling earthquakes?
How much for half a dozen?

The funny thing is i am not strong so it really felt weird/strange. I was joggling trying to note my numbers, sipping water and cutting down my rest time to avoid constantly adding weight. It might have made a funny movie.[/quote]

Have you just unlocked the secret to getting stronger? Everybody must train at 10:30am! I can’t believe that every time I trained at 8:15am it was a waste as my testosterone was much lower than at 10:30…

you gotta be careful though. You have to sip water and cut down rest time to avoid constantly adding weight.

Today was great too so maybe focussing on my weak side, resting my injured strong side my neural connection woke up. Well for now it is my best guest. If anyone is curious they might focus on working their non dominant side and find out.
By the way i trained at 8:15 am this morning.

Did you check that your testosterone was really high at 8:15 this morning? Maybe it changes daily and you need to change your training time daily to progress well.

Strength increases are not linear.

BHappy, you’re still a n00b, so occasional substantial increases in weight/reps aren’t that odd. I remember when i was struggling to bench 225 for 1-2 reps, then one day out of nowhere I hit it for 5 reps. It was months later before I was able to hit that weight again for 5 reps on bench. The longer you lift, the less days like that you have, because you’re actually pushing your body to its true limits more often, so you know them better. Many beginners don’t even know their true limits, because it hurts to get to that point.

I know i still learn frequently. That is why i do ask questions to learn. Thanks.

Best thread title ever.
Not posting numbers is a total cock tease.
And obviously PCP.

BHappy; maybe you were bitten by a radioactive spider while you were meditating.

Namaste.

Wouldn’t it have just been the case of lifting 2 hours later than you usually would? Read a lot of people who say they’d prefer to workout later in the day (at least 3-4 hours after they wake up) just so their muscles/CNS system are all woken up.

I’d also imagine you had more to eat when you trained at 10:30am instead of 8:30am? More food, more energy which is why I always have to get 2 meals in before training.

You get my frame of mind. I was curious to know what might have triggered the difference so i might be able to duplicate it. It was not a little different, i would not have created a new post to waste mine or others time.

I read that 3 to 6 pm was the optimal time to train but when training early after time to adapt it was OK. I also heard an ex tennis pro saying she preferred to be scheduled on the second spot because it allowed her to wake up at normal hour and have 2 meals before her game with time to have a practice before going out to win the game, more points, more $$. ( the later they are booked to play the tougher it is to anticipate the start time because it depends how long the previous games last and weather ).

I live relatively normal hours, and timing does not make an enormous difference for me.

6-8pm usual training time, which works pretty well for me.
1pm during weekends makes no difference to my training.
10pm my best ever deadlift workout was at this time.

Earlier than 1pm I tend to feel clunky. Also you’re more likely to pick up an injury training first thing in the morning, according to what I’ve read. Should have at least 2 hours to get your joints loose and lubed…

And training after one meal versus two or three meals means nothing to me. It’s all about glycogen stores.

Should post your numbers…

I read that stretching the spine should not be done the first 30 minutes we get up because some fluids need to get back in balance after hours of just lying.
I read/learned how to train from books and bad advices got my right shoulder in trouble.
I read a bunch of wrong things about eating healthy about 22 years ago.
I read stretching after a workout is a mistake.
I read DC tells streeeetching agressively post wo is a must it works.
This is why i value input from you guys because you are not writing stuff to earn $$, most mean well and if many agree it is more likely to be true.
Thanks !

I for one am glad that Bhappy isn’t making me feel inadequate by posting his numbers.

what were the wrong things you learned about diet 22 years ago?
