The correct weight was 200.5kg done in '86 in the 100kg class. The record he broke belonged to Yuri Zacharievich who held it with a 200kg lift, which I will add he did as a junior lifter in addition to a 240kg clean&jerk.
These three records (200kg snatch, 240kg C&J, 440kg total 100kg category) were both the men’s and junior’s world records for some time. That total record he did was never broken, and obviously quite ahead of his time.
In contrast, the men’s world record in the snatch for the 110kg category at the time was I think 194kg, held by Taranenko. So Vlad is really one of the two heaviest men to have snatched double bodyweight. [/quote]
