I love weighted dips. I usually hit them once a week, doing anywhere from 3-12 reps. I do that for eight weeks and then ease off of them for four weeks.
Axe where did you get your dip station? Imo, the v styles are the only ones worth getting.

It’s a pretty cheap but very sturdy dip rack (Eurosport Dip Rack), and the cost was around 500$ including the shipment.
Ordered from a Swedish website, only ships to Denmark, Norway and Sweden of course.

Gotcha. Surprisingly, EFS has theirs for sale cheaper than that. Ill probably purchase from them.
Hey again, my training has been on and off but now I’m on track. and videos will be coming.
After my bench press I did some weighted dips.

LOL damn I was weak
How’d you progress with dips?
I used to suck badly at them and wasn’t too weak relatively yet could still only get like 5 BW dips. Hit them hard over past year or so (well, kinda) and I can do +20kg for 3x10 or so. Kinda stuck now though.
Do you change it up often or just keep pushing the weighted?
i like to do long sets of weighted dips, 3x20 +45 lbs , i feel like when i get real heavy +100 and over the sub acromial space gets pretty narrow and my shoulders hurt

You gotta mix it up with low reps.In my training I often only do 3-5 rep, sometimes I max rep/weigth. But for strength only keep it at 3-5 rep. really explosive.
Keep pushing the weights, and mix it up with light/heavy days, but not more then twice a week.
Dips have always been a cornerstone assistance movement for me. I am 5’7 190 right now. I was a bench specialist in the 165’s, full power now. My dip-strength was always a good indicator where my bench was, and still is. My PR now is BW+225 for 6 reps. Normally I will cycle them for about 4-6 weeks at a time. Just using a typical ramping up scheme.
So maybe the first week do sets of 8. Just starting at BW+45, and working up 25-45lbs at a time, until I feel I have reached an 8 rep max. The next week, I do the same thing but with 6 reps, following week 4-5. I rarely go below 4 though. Some weeks they will be my second movement following raw bench, but other weeks if my bench was rough, I will take one or two movements in between to let my shoulders and triceps recover.
Do them enough and you will bust a few belts… that makes you feel pretty freaking good! I have a few weeks away from them right now, but when I get back into a dip cycle, I will try to post a video.
On days my shoulders can handle it I like them a lot. Those days don’t happen often.
