Is this a thing as we age? I can actually feel mine contributing less on presses. I figured it was a nerve issue.
Good luck!

Good luck!
Good luck, @Smashedguitarist!
Good luck!
Good luck @Smashedguitarist give it hell!
Good luck!
Go crush it, mate!
It is hard to tell how many people we have in this. Do you have a count @TrainForPain
22 if I count @Cretin78 (I’m not real sure where his entry stands). It’s not how many start… it’s how many finish!
Still ~1 week to enter: peer pressure your friends!
Goals:
I’ll be taking another Styku scan in the next couple weeks to track measurements. I’ve already came a long way this past year. From 206 lbs to 173 lbs. Ready to start eating again and try to put on muscle.
Looks like you’re starting from a good place! I probably already know, but remind us how old you are?
Edit: Never mind, I looked in your log. I think you’re going to have a great six months!
About to be 42 in a couple months!
Looks like you are doing great. May need some surgery to correct the squiggly face though
You don’t need to count me as an entry.
What I said I would do because @Moonflower and @Andrewgen_Receptors calling me out is I will post a vid at the beginning (which I did, it’s in my journal). And I post another when this is done.
I went a step further and used a shot of my vid as my profile pic. For @Andrewgen_Receptors to blow up and say that I don’t look like I lift, lol.
Where’s that muffin top at now Andrew? That’s why I chose that shot cause, well, I don’t see a muffin top anymore…….
Andrew can critique me all he wants. I’ll keep doing my thing which involves celery still!
PS this is all in good spirit and fun. I might of amped up the volume a tad to get where I am but it was still instinctive approach.
I plan to change my profile pic at the of this and tag Andrew and Moon.
24 entrants… can we break 40 this year??
My actual goals - which aren’t super conducive to T-ransformation, but maybe corollary?
-At the San Diego Spartan 10K in April, I’m running alongside my childhood BFF. Seriously, we’ve been friends for 30+ years. He’s been taller, stronger, leaner, faster, better-in-every-way than me physically since we played freeze tag in the parking lot as kids. GOAL: be better than him, for the first time, in April! That’s likely his goal too so we’re inspiring each other.
-At the Hawaii Spartan 10K in August: I’m running alone, for the first time. Goal: Be really good. Be the best I can be.
The limiting factor on those two goals, as it stands now, is honestly my running pace.
Aside from the above, what I really ENJOY training is the snatch. Weird, right? I’d LOVE to have a bodyweight snatch. I’ve gotten “close” (ish) before. Moved across the planet, changed gyms MULTIPLE times, and my snatch today is about where it was in July 2023 when everything started to change. Maybe a little less, I should check the log.
[Edit. I checked the log. I am actually snatching better than I was in August 2023, so there’s progress. At that time I was also doing very heavy FS though, a PR at 225lb, which I am confident I can’t do today; and I was regularly doing the C&J too and taking it as seriously. For simplicity’s sake I haven’t been focusing on C&J lately, just snatch. Maybe that accounts for the progress.]
But he who chases 2 rabbits catches none, so I think I need to keep the goal the goal - focus on the running pace; work on the snatch, sure, but as “exercise” not in pursuit of a strength goal per se, until after at least the first Spartan.
To be clear: Running is my least favorite physical fitness activity and I’ll find ANYTHING to distract - O-lifting, calisthenics, weighted monkey bars - but I really, really need to put miles in and drop extra weight.
I’ve waxed verbose, as usual. I’ll close with a video of me doing unweighted and then +50lb weighted monkey bars.
Weird, because you said this as well when discussing joining this challenge…
…and apart from a couple videos (which don’t really count as pictures in this thread), not a single pic of you has appeared here or in your log.
I still said what I said:
Edit: So i’ll be using a strong (almost 800 calories deficit during the week) and then allowing higher calories at the weekend. Not sure if that’s wise but from previous experience i eat more at the weekend as its with the family. Also buys me the odd pint of Guinness which no sane person could live without.
For arms i’m doing 4 sets of bicep work twice a week and tricep work will be 3 sets twice a week for now. not expecting massive growth while on a cut though.
As for squat i started back with really light weights a while ago and moved up 2.5kg a week. I am doing 3 sets of 5 reps twice a week. This seems to be working and i want to continue doing this until i can get to 3 sets of 140kg then will revaluate.
I’ll still be playing the odd rugby game as well but not sure how much at the moment due to personal commitments.
I said I wasn’t interested in the contest, I said I would post up and that’s it. I don’t train for contests, I train for the rest of my life.
Vid is just as good as a pic for a shirtless critique (maybe not the contest criteria but as I said, I’m not interested in the content but still it’s a shirtless vid) plus I updated my profile pic.
So what’s your critique of my build? Too fat, not big enough for my money mouth (whatever that money where your mouth comment is about?). No, I obviously haven’t touched a weight before, just look at me, skinny arms no back development, lol, being sarcastic.
I even tried to post the vid of me posing (I don’t claim to know anything about posing) here but I’m very restricted here, says I can’t post a link in the thread. I’ve been told I’m on the “list” here. It has taken days to get my journal posts approved and up this week. No, I’m not allowed by admins to just post.
I also don’t have the time (I’ve got major family responsibilities) to pick apart everything I say in posts so literally let alone another poster.
