(Un)Official 2024 T-ransformation Challenge

Could have easily gotten away with using my BEFORE shots as AFTER shots for all the difference. Injured my knee (again) in April and my shoulder (again) in May. Did manage to forge some better habits, breaking the spell of stress eating that has plagued me ever since we moved back to Arizona last summer.

BEFORE

AFTER

I’m 148.8 lbs in the AFTER photo, which is the good part. I still feel like my anterior and posterior photos look like two different people and my goal for the rest of the year - in addition to working another five pounds off my frame - is to make the front side look more like the back side.

The numbers:
153.4 lbs → 148.8 lbs
34" waist → 33 1/2" waist

Other major changes going into the second half of the year include prioritizing “conditioning” over “strength” for the first time, and possibly retiring from jiu-jitsu due to accumulated injuries.

OK, after moving to another country and trying to survive everything, the progress wasn’t what I hoped for, but still, I managed to do a little recomp…

Current BW 85kg (187lbs).

Squat 120kg 5x5
Benchpress 80kg 5x5
Deadlift 125kg 5x5 (yeah, almost not training this one in the chaos…)
Barbell row 70kg 5x5
Overhead press 55kg 5x5

And my current photos here:

Well, the definition in my upper body definitely somewhat improved, together with my strength. Altogether, not great (faaar from that), but not terrible, I guess

NIce! Gettin tighter! Keep it up!

This will be me, too—assuming I remember to grab photos in the morning, as I won’t likely have a chance before then.

I’m not winning anything anyway, except for maybe @T3hPwnisher’s “Bruce Randall Excellence in Corpulence” award…

@Well_Swung Awesome job mate, clear progress made here. Really excited to see where you end up at the end of the year check in. Well done

@whiplash1 definitely tightened up, nice work.

@unicornsandrainbows looks like you got leaner and added some muscle at the same time so the scale is not telling you the whole story. Quality

Good on you for staying accountable. You know what you need to do, to come back and surprise us all by the end of the year.

@silvieillesova - Seriously good work happening here. That’s a 9kg loss and clearly can see the changes. Now just need to keep the discipline and reap even more rewards. Excited for you.

This made me smile. I like my back better than my front too. Good on you for working through the stress eating.

I do, too! I really appreciate the sense of community and support here. I think someone mentioned it before–I don’t remember T-Nation being anywhere near as friendly and supportive 5-10 years ago; to be fair, I didn’t hang around much back then.

Hah!
I felt the same way looking at my progress photos… like all my gains were in my back.

05 January 2024 - Last day of Super Squats

31 May 2024 - Pumped and sweaty after this morning’s workout… Still counts, right?

The moral to this story, boys and girls: Don’t take two months off.

Great stuff, everyone!

Last call for any remaining shots. I’m going to try to get the voting thread up tonight, but may not be until tomorrow. When I do, it will be a new thread, but I’ll link it here so if you’re subscribed to this thread you’re notified.

Not great lighting here and not much of a pump either but we are on a deadline!

I haven’t InBody scanned recently but my resting weight is up to 253 so I’ve probably gained 4-5lbs over the start of the year while not changing body fat much, so I’m pretty happy with that.

Shoulder injury has really messed with my training last couple of months. I’m going into month 2 of BPC-157 and am probably back to ~60% on it, but definitely have s ways to go in rehabbing, so my front Delts & pecs (especially upper pec) have had a hit over the last couple of months

Damn, look solid. How tall are you?

Also… looked at your profile, your clinic is right around where I’m at.

So, once again here I am. Not much to say, I did not follow any particular diet (i am just continuing with my warrior diet and carb cycling lifestyle) or workout (I just did a full body workout 3 times per week). I have just tried to focus on getting quality workouts without overthinking and stressing about diet and training. I have a stressful job schedule and training should give me a break, not draining me even more. I had decent results, even considering the fact that I did almost no cardio… between my starting and finish picture, there only is 1.4kg difference (starting at 90.6 and finishing at 89.2).
I am not as shredded as 2019 or 2020, but… i am happy with training and life. Maybe (just MAYBE) next time I will try to do better…

Will do! Already on TRT, but interested in hearing about peptides.

I’m same height, but you’re leaner and have 10-15lbs on me. I’ve got work to do.

We can help with that! I’m really liking Sermorelin now, it’s been a slow process (I’m 4 months in) but definitely has picked up pace in month 3 & onward in terms of physical impact. We also monitor GH levels through bloodwork to see how things are progressing

Honestly, I didn’t even lose that much weight. I think I only lost ~15-20 lbs of actual weight over the course of the challenge, although all of my lifts shot up dramatically, so I think I probably I lost more fat than what is indicated by the scale.

Great work everyone! There are some really amazing transformations throughout this thread. Huge shout out to the people who organize this event and to those who take the time out of their lives to encourage people to work towards their best selves. Your words and encouragement made a massive change in my life and seemingly many others over the past five months and you are truly appreciated.

Sorry folks; I’ve been delayed. I’ll get to the voting thread ASAP. Thanks for bearing with me
