Training Personal Records - Part 2

2 board press for a 5RM

210 …up from 205 .

Yesterday, I got 355 for 5 reps on squat, 235 for 5 reps on bench, and 245 for 5 reps on clean. Pretty good day.

Pulled 455 on Monday (50 pound PR). Went for 500 and got stuck 2 inches off the ground.

Deadlift 455x1

I attempted 470 after this, I let out my air before starting the pull and it fucked me over.

Hit a big one today… first time I ever pulled 5 plates. It went up pretty fast too. Before the end of the year I’m going to pull 6 plates.

Squat 455x3 in a belt, PR -knee wraps

Been a while since I had something good to post.

Hit a big PR for me on the clean last night, 140kg. I’ve powercleaned 150kg before but there was no way I could have done the full clean. I’m a happy man, for a while. 140kg is still shite for me, need to get to that up to 180kg if things keep progressing.

Deadlift 455x4 …next week working up to a limit single

375 x 1…thats a 15 lb PR from about 2 months ago when I pulled a 360 (with room to spare).

and thats 100 pounds of progress from the first time I maxed on deads ; about 3 and a half years .

now I have to decide whether to end the cycle , or go for a double bodyweight pull next week . weighed in at 189 today…and pretty sure I would have gotten another 3 pounds .
Not to be an ass (although I pretty much am being one) but 375 after 3 and a half years of working out? That seems like a number that someone should get within 6 months of working out. Maybe its time to take a good look at how you’re training.
I know , I stir that shit around constantly . no excuses , but I started at 42, as a complete athletic virgin , so to speak (165 lb skinny fat ex-smoker;I was quite out of shape). guaranteed I wasnt gonna go from a 250/275 to 375 in six months . I made very limited gains the first year . programming probably lacked …I dont know . not many guys to compare notes with .

but thanks…I always try to listen

You young kids  I started lifting seriously about 9 months ago, and I’d already had my 45th birthday by then. I have no illusions that I’m going to get crazy strong at my point in life, but I’m doing a lot better than I was when I started out, and as long as I keep progressing I’m going to declare satisfaction.

Obligatory PR info:
Deadlift: 275x1
Squat: 250x1
Bench: 155x1
OHP: 105x1

Working the Wendler 5/3/1 program, so I plan to hit a new PR for weight and/or reps every 4 weeks. We’ll see how long that lasts.

Deadlift 500x1. Missed 520 right off the floor.

255 for 5 reps on clean and 365 for 5 reps on squat.

widegrip bench press 225x4x2 sets…thas a 1rep 1 set pr
