Squat
289x12 (+4 reps)

assistance day-

pullups - BW + 90lbs x 3 +20lb PR. this was too big a jump though. i’ll stick with this for a couple weeks to get my reps up to 6, then hopefully hit my goal of BW +100lbs

I’ve been working on those weighted pullups as well. Earlier this week I hit bw(200) +95 for 4. No video evidence, sadly. But I can say that I don’t use those sissy straps

From today, 525 x 3.

Damn batteries died in my camera, so I used my phone. Didn’t know I should’ve turned it sideways.

And I should’ve closed that damn door, too.

Hit a lot of PRs lately, just due to switching from more of BBing routine to 5/3/1 variation.

32 years old
5’5"

No gear, not even a belt…

Bench: 245 (+10 in 5 weeks)
Squat: 300 (+15 in 5 weeks)
Deadlift: 335 (+20 in 5 weeks)

All other lifts have gone up along the way. We have a Cybex Leg Ext that is rediculous and I’ve maxed the stack (245) for 5 reps.

Been lifting for only 18 months, I was a pretty good distance runner for 15+ years. Safe to say…this process has been fun…

I guess this is a PR: My friend a couple weeks ago laid down a gauntlet on FB about a 315 lb deadlift for reps in an hour. He got 61. Went to the gym yesterday and decided to make a go of it. I hit 131 reps. At 41,000 pounds for the hour is definitely one of the coolest and at the same time Dumbest things I’ve ever done…

I went to my first full PL meet at the Brute Strength Classic down in Norfolk, VA Saturday. It was a lot of fun. I met a lot of cool, friendly people, broke a couple of PR’s, and won my 275# class with a 1,300 total.

Some pretty impressive numbers being put up. Some guy in the 198# class pulled a 701 Deadlift, and this 16 year old chick from Pennsylvania (I’m sure she’s famous, I just didn’t know who she was) put up some ridiculous numbers in multiply gear (don’t remember total, but it was HIGH).

I set a PR in Squat (500#: +75# PR)

Also set new PR in Deadlift (465#: +10# PR)

VT- congrats on your meet and huge numbers. Both the squat and deadlift looked extremely easy!! Keep up the good work.

Good job man, thats an awesome total.

I find it odd that you squat 500 pounds, but only deadlift 465. Usually people who DL that squat in the low 400’s. How long have you been deadlifting?

Thanks for the props man.

haha yeah my Deadlift is pretty pathetic. Its very frustrating sometimes to see guys that are squatting much lower than me pulling a lot higher. I am positive I’m good for much higher than 465 (maybe 500), but I opened retardedly low at 395 for this meet since I had never done a full meet before and had no idea how I would be feeling by that point in the day. My second attempt was to secure the win as I only needed 425 to beat out the next highest total in my weight class, who had already finished. Then the 465 was a pretty easy number to shoot for as it would give me a round 1300 total for the meet, and was also a +10# PR (and I struggled mightily with 455 when I hit it last month).

I’ve only been deadlifting heavy since about July, but I had been pulling with a hook grip and wider stance. About a month or so ago, I went out to lift with MarauderMeat and his crew, and he helped me with a few form issues I’d been having, and I switched to a mixed grip with a narrower stance. So I’m basically learning how to pull all over again.

That coupled with being 6’5 is my excuse, and I’m sticking to it! haha…hopefully gonna see that shooting up in the next couple months though.

VT you could have put 30 more pounds on that squat by the looks of it, well done.

Technically I hit a rep pr today with 315# on the touch and go deadlift with 40 consecutive reps in under two minutes. I’m training to be less of a pile.

wraps or not, that is very impressive, wow!

good job VT. those attempts were rediculously easy for you. no vids of the bench??

great first full meet hoss!!!

Dont forget he did it in a pair of nike’s, he could get some chucks or lifting shoes and at 10 lbs to his deadlift. Then, he didnt use knee wraps and had a very fast descent. He has a lot more untapped strength to show.

Hey VT nice job man. Wish I woulda been there im sure it was fun. Nice squat btw, and your deadlift form looks like it has improved.

This will be my first PR post in this thread so I figured it should be a good one, haha. Last week I hit a 600 deadlift for the first time. Started training with meat about a year and a half ago now, and I was at around a 440 max or so.

Anyway, here it is:
1x600 +15 LB PR

and the spotter :))
great job

IBN- decided to stick with reverse grip bench press as my ME movement for this cycle. i estimate my max with the reverse grip at 500. tonight i worked up to 85% for 3. felt very manageable. next week it will be 90%. since this is the first time doing reverse grip bench, everything is a PR:)

here’s my 425x3-paused
