Thanks guys!

something a little different… this was from today’s accessory day. for many, this isn’t shit but considering i couldn’t do one BW pullup two months ago i’m very happy.

today was the first time i’ve tried BW pullups with additional weight. i started very conservative with a 10lb plate. here’s a vid of my first set. i finish with a 25lb plate on my third set. I’m doing my best to keep these really strict with minimal body english while also removing the stretch reflex. can’t wait to do these with a 100lb plate.

not bad for a fatass powerlifter…

Nice. That looks like it would kill my arms. Would be much harder to hold than to lift. I gotta try that.[/quote]

i pull my elbow sleeves down over my forearms. that helps a lot.

i hear that a lot though, but trust me, the last thing you are thinking about is your forearms.

Very controlled; impressive! Pullups are rough when you’re a big guy. It’s awesome to see you’re not at all shy of doing tough exercises, besides the “big 3.” (Although, really, I guess that was already obvious, but this just further pounds that in.)

3 inch deficit deadlift: 605 which is a 20 lb PR. The PR was from May right before I hit 710 at the meet.

nice environment to train!

to get strong at the big 3 assistance work is very necessary.

i’m hoping to work up to a 100lb plate in the near future. that would be a 355lb pullup.

thanks hoss!!

I don’t know if this is a double post. T-Nation keeps timing out on me… if so sorry

Squat - 345 - 190 15lb PR

This lift is from a month ago, but I haven’t posted here for awhile:

week two of bench cycle. very happy with the progression with the foam press. i’m not using any gear at all except my elbow sleeves on the rep set.

foam bench press- 565x1 +20lb PR - weight felt light even though i flared a bit early and had to muscle out the lockout. next week i may move up to 585. i really want 600 by the end of the four weeks.

i hit one rep set at the end of my bench work. it’s not a PR. maybe i should start having “fresh” PR’s and “fatigued” PR’s. fresh, i’ve hit 315x21 with a liftoff. tonight i hit 315x19 with no liftoff. felt light until my triceps fried at 19. fresh, i could easily hit 25-30 with a lift off.

great pull hoss!!!

135 kg Clean (+5 Kg PB). Nearly lifting as much as a small girl now! Exciting stuff.

BTN Press - 245 - 195

15lb PR

accessory night-

BW pullups +35lbs x 5- this was done after my working sets with 25lbs. move’n on up.

Did a 475 squat and 555 dead yesterday. The squat isn’t an all time PR but its the heaviest I’ve squatted in almost 8 months. The deadlift is a 10lbs. PR

Touch and go deadlift, belt plus chalk 480 x 8

PR + 3 reps - straps

most recent cycle

rack pulls/ below knee…345x5 ; 365x3

2 board press… 235x1

deadlift…360x1 (today)

Squat PR 325x5x5 previous best with 325 was 6x3, also 325 is now the heaviest weight I have squatted for 5 reps, so today felt very successful.
