Test day for the 13 week sheiko program today.

Squat 405 PR +20 Less than expected, but good to break 400.

Bench 300 PR +25 Whoo! First 300 pound bench always exciting for everyone I think. It went up pretty well so I jumped for 3 plates, it wasn’t there.

Absolutely nothing to report on deadlift, still stuck at 405, I attempted 415 three times and each time I got it a little higher, but never got it to my knees. When I deadlift if it gets past my knees I am standing up with it right away, unfortunately it just wasn’t there today, huge disappointment.
Fucking congrats man. 405 Squat and a 300lb bench? I’ll take that any fucking day of the week. So do you think 305 or 310 is there?

Damn I really want to give Sheiko a try. I just can’t get past that mental barrier of low percentages

Again great job man, really proud of you. Once you get started again your Deadlift will sky rocket
As fast of progress as you are making the last thing you need to be thinking about is a different program. Remember to save the “fancy” shit for later. Ed Coan got up to a 500 pound squat by adding 5 pounds every session for awhile; shit, maybe dankid is on to something.

Sheiko training didn’t make much sense to me until I read about the dual factor theory. Kelly Bagget describes it well. While doing Sheiko you have enough fatigue it would be hard to work up to 95% of your max on just about any training day.

Thanks man, yeah the 300 was really clean and steady, so I really thought that 315 would be there, but it didn’t make it far. I think 305 or 310 could have been mine today had I not gotten greedy.

As far as deadlifting goes, I have figured out through my first year of training that I am really going to have to fight for every pound on my deadlift. The first day I ever deadlifted I hit 325 and squatted 225 the same day. 13 months later my squat is up 180, dead up 80, so squat is obviously where my genetics lie. That is no excuse, my deadlift will be 700+ one day, just a lot of extra effort will be needed.

and 405 for 10!!

I did 180kg x6 today on DL
yeah… that’s my little one. she definitely takes after her mother but she definitely has my temper.

was that a rep PR for you or a weight PR?
rep PR, my max 1 month ago was 190kg

RDL’ed 500 for 12 with a fat bar. The heaviest I’ve gone is 605 for 6, but 500 for 12 was a rep max and it almost fucking killed me. It was after speed squats with the SSB and speed pulls with the same fat bar. If I keep this up, I am either going to kill myself or pull 820 at my next meet. I am equally excited for either outcome.

Deadlift 475: PR +40 lbs.

January 1st, 2009: Pulled 350
December 29th 2009: pulled 475

Put 125 lbs. on my deadlift in one year (newbie gains), still damn proud of myself though.

Deadlift 270x10 on “5” day of 5/3/1
Never pulled 10 reps any weight heavier than 135 (warmup)
Prob had 1-2 left in the tank

good stuff everyone, what is the best way to start a new year…PR!

deadlift 1x205k, 1x210k

sorry about the bad angle

Bench Press-520x1 bodyweight yesterday morning was 252.

and anyone that things age is a factor in gettting strong, one of my training partners just hit a lifetime weight PR on bench today. He hit 435 at the age of 50 and 240lbs. here’s his vid. he still has some left in the tank.

Bench 190x8 on “3” day of 5/3/1
EDT Chin/Dip 15 min PR Zone: 43 total reps

Looked like you bending down and picking up 135! Fast, sir - well done…

Hitted 3 reps with 180kg on deadlift today. This was kind of surprise to me… Old 1 RM was 160kg.

floor press 135kg in the shit gym back at home

trying out my new briefs yesterday… my PR squat is 917 in the gym, but with someone I trust watching depth… with my new briefs under my suit I took 957 yesterday but wimped out and cut it ~1.5" high… came up easy I just got intimidated by the weight and wimped out…
What a pussy. I’ve never wimped out on a 900+ squat attempt.

I don’t even know how you gear whores put that much weight on the bar without cracking a vertebra. Do you always have to be in the gym hogging all the plates?

Video would be awesome. Great work.

please padon, the death screams. It is the day after and I hurt!

DL 470x5 from a dead stop with just a belt.

I haven’t done much dead stop pulling in a while.

hit up front squats as a second movement again this week. worked up to an easy 425x3. left a lot in the tank.

squats going on the back burner for awhile to concentrate on deads.

front squat 425x3

Paused bench: 300 x 10

I swear the last rep took about 3 minutes. I guess that makes it an imperfect rep.

405 Squat (PR + 20 Lbs.)

425 Squat (PR + 40 Lbs.)

Thank you, Mr. Smolov.

875 reverse band deadlift. My set-up gives me an almost exact 50lb carryover at meets. My goal is for 825 in March and I am there now with 2 months to go.

<Edit: Lol. This is for deadlift.>

New PR for weight. Today’s improvements:

365 x 6 (Up from 355 x 3 weeks ago, and 335 x 10 more recently)
405 x 1 (Up from 385 x 1 last week)

Now I going to say “fuck it” and go shoot for 405 x 2…
