Training Personal Records - Part 2

Found a legit PR for the first time in a long time today…

Was messing about in the gym, planned to take it easy but had a rest day yesterday and was feeling good as a result. Hit an all time raw squat PR of 220kg/485lb @101kg/222lb (I know… people expected more, I’m a gear technician, what can I say??). Last time I was around that weight I was 110kg/242lb and put up 450 x4, but they were all high.

Here it is - Squat - 220kg x1 - YouTube There was probably more in the tank but I’m getting ready for a bench comp and my second last session is tomorrow so didn’t wanna push it too hard.

Also a cheap PR, cos I’m only doing them a few weeks - 110kg/242lb no belt box squat w/ light and average band 3x3 - Box Squats w/ bands - YouTube

Compared to some PRs here, this isn’t much, but you need to understand that 2 months ago I was only deadlifting about 100 pounds.

Here’s me on a successful (pounds) 325 x 2 reps deadlift, assuming the picture uploads. lol.

its not much but at my highschool football testing, I got 12 reps on the 185 bench test… Its funny because I beat everyone else in my school… I wonder what they would say if someone like meat came to our gym :stuck_out_tongue:

to put it into perspective, i couldn’t bench 185 for 12 reps in highschool. you are further ahead than i was at your age. keep up the good work.

my favorite PR is a 350lb 2" axle clean and press… but i’m currently working to pulling 700 raw by the end of the year (axle video in profile)

Meat, nice to see you’re still kicking ass and making progress.

Here’s my latest and greatest PR (760x1 DL):

Dave

This was a PR in the box squat. Form brokedown but I was able to get it up.

conventional deadlift PR 185k

only 15k more needed to do this years goal, 200kilo pull

Thanks, I need to do moar upper back and hamstring work before 200k is possible. BTW how come you pull only 200, I saw a youtube video of you squatting something ridiculous like 11x146k!!
I have a prolapsed L4 that I did 3yrs ago DL so I am very tentative on my DL and haven’t DL since 3yrs ago. Only been DL for the past 6weeks and building up slowly. So I’m a much better squater then DL but I’m going to DL once a week or so to up my lower back strength. I did 180kg x 3reps about 4 weeks ago but it’s the 1RM that I need to becareful about. I also squat 3x a week every single and don’t DL heavy ever but thats changing now.

Yeah, but the gains are smaller and tougher. I guess that’s the way it goes…

Thanks!
Tell me about it. I started that stupid 600 lb deadlift thread over a year ago and I still haven’t pulled 6 yet.

Bench 355 with 1 sec pause PR +20

both at a body weight of 180

Small PR but I finally got two 35’s on plate pinches… welllll with my right hand left hand slipped on the way up

same boat

I guess this isn’t really a training PR, but today I finally managed to get a starting spot on my highschool varsity football team as a defensive tackle. At only 170 lbs I am very happy.
I have never been athletic, and the only reason coaches started me is because of my dedication to the weight room and the resulting strength that helps me on the field
