Tpepper88's Velocity Diet Log

These things seem all the rage right now so I thought I’d post my own. Started the velocity diet today in hopes of shedding some pounds I’ve gained.

Starting Weight: 256 lbs, 5’8’, around 27% BF

Been working out for about 2 years now.

So far this diet has been pretty rough and im only on the first day! I really do not enjoy the orange creme Metabolic Drive, I think I’d rather not eat anything than drink that thing, but i have a whole tub to use. I bought a huge jar of baby pickles and they actually really do help with getting something salty in. Anyway i’ll keep you posted.

Day 2: Holy crap I hate the orange creme Metabolic Drive, its not so much the taste but it leaves a weird after taste. On the brightside the Chocolate is most delicious. Not feeling too bad today, probably a 7 out of 10. Didnt have any particular cravings.

I find that I do not look forward to my shakes at all, thats actually the worst part of the diet for me is downing those things, but after its done I feel fine. No hunger or anything. On another note im sore as fuck from my workout yesterday, guess thats what I get for taking 3 weeks off.

I’m feeling alot more confident that I can actually finish this diet now.

Gym Day tomorrow, excited!

Day 3: Feel pretty decent today, probably a 7 or 8. Felt even better after I weighed myself, 252 baby! And that was after I had drank 2 Pints of water. Hunger is not an issue still, not really having any cravings. My Fraternity is having a waffle and chicken night tonight. Not too much of a problem cause I never like Waffles, but I wouldnt turn down some chicken. Ohwell only 25 days to go and I can go back to my beloved meats, small price to pay for being signifcantly leaner.

Workout Today:
225 x 10 x 3 RDL
185 x 10 x 3 Decline Bench
140 x 6 x 3 Front Squats (Easy but I’m still not sure on the form so kept it fairly light)
115 x 1 x 3 Bent Over Row

The workout was cut early because It was fairly busy and I had already been there an hour, plus I was fucked. Deadlifts and squats in the same day is tough. On the bright side I managed to rip a fatty callus of my left hand, which also contributed to me leaving early.

Food Today was around 2000 calories consisting of 2 scoops of Surge, Protein Shakes(1 Scoop Metabolic Drive + 1 scoop Grow! Whey), Flameout, Lots of BCAAs (25g over the course of the day), HOT-ROX, Handful of almonds, and some pickles.

Obviously the Metabolic Drive + Grow! Whey isnt ideal but im a cash strapped student so what can you do.

Ya I was hoping for a cremesicle type flavor but I got a 10 year old tums taste from it. On the bright side the Chocolate is very tasty and I could probably live off of it.

I thought you weren’t supposed to have things like pickles/almonds or other solid food on the V-Diet besides the sunday oatmeal meal? Thought it was only low carb shakes/flax meal and supps? Guess It’s changed a lot since I first read about it.

mmm, well the way I understood it was in the original V-Diet the fish oil capsules had 210 calories, whereas the Flameout has 50 calories, so you’re supposed to add a tablespoon of Peanut butter? Problem is I dont like/ am highly allergic to peanuts, so I subbed in a handful of almonds. Any thoughts on if this is O.K?

The pickles im not sure about, I read them in someone log so assumed they were ok. The amount i have only has 5 calories/one carb in them so I thought I was good.

Day 4: And so it begins. Fuckkkkkkk me, I’m hungry. I would kill to eat ANYTHING. Raw Broccoli, spinach, ANYTHING!!! Sunday cannot come soon enough! But I am not going to fail or cheat. I keep telling myself, “I’f you give in now, you’re going to have to do the last 4 days all over again, and there is no fucking way you are downing anymore of that orange creme Metabolic Drive!”

On the Plus Side I am not nearly as sore as yesterday after the gym. One thing I forgot to mention yesterday was that the raspberry Surge is super freaking sweet, like almost unbearably sweet, anyone got any tips on making it less so?

Other than that, nothing to report, just grinding along. only 24 days left

You can sub almond butter for peanut butter.

Yeah, I’m not a big fan of orange MD either but some people recommend mixing a scoop of that with the other flavors to improve taste.

Try more crushed ice, more water to dilute Surge and maybe a squeeze of lime or lemon. I was using the squeeze of lime in my shakes the first week to take a bit of the sweetness off but now I’m cool with the shakes as is.

It does get easier as you go along. Take care Bro!

I don’t mind the orange for a change of pace, and an orange mixed with a banana or a chocolate seems quite nice for me.

Day 5: So today for dinner my fraternity ordered about 20 Costco pizzas for a recruitment dinner. Failure, I gorged atleast 7 slices in 10 minutes and felt like shit. Just Kidding, but they did look fucking good. I would be lying if I said I didnt crave a piece and only wanted brocolli. The important part is though that I didnt eat any of that crap and just chewed on some ice cubes and had some crystal light.

Starting to get interoggated about my diet from my friends now, all of them keep telling me its such a bad idea blah, blah, blah. I just nod in agreement and then ignore what they said. Afterall one of these guys told me that “creatine is like steroids and after you stop taking it all your muscle will turn to flab.” Ya, O.K. buddy.

Went to the gym today, 249. Workout went good. Im just over halfway done with my nasty orange Metabolic Drive. Thank God. If I ever do this diet again the one thing I will do is buy all chocolate Metabolic Drive and Surge.

I love the Orange, I’m surprised you don’t. Try mixing it with Vanilla for the creamsickle effect. I also mix it with orange gatorade as a postworkout drink instead of surge (saves $$).

My wife and I did the V-Diet last summer. It sucked the first few days, then I found I didn’t mind it much. It was nice to always know what I was gonna eat next. We both lost some unwanted bodyfat. Its not the easiest way to lose weight, but its nice 'cuz its fast :slight_smile:

All I have to say about other people is it doesn’t matter if they do it intentionally or not I have found some of the closest people to “you” are the ones who do the most damage.

Day 6: Weeeeeeeeeeee I feel good. Played a pickup game of soccer today, which was fun. The combination of being out of shape + huge calorie defeciet didnt sound too great a prospect, but the other team sucked donkey balls so I didnt have to put in too much effort. After that I went to have my solid food meal for the day. Some Skinless Chicken, Salad with a TINY amount of vinaigrette, and some “spicy indian cauliflower”, which is basically cauliflower with various herbs(mustard seed,cumin,etc.) and a bit of olive oil. Soooooo fucking good. But I had to throw half of it away, like 5 or 6 bucks, cause I was so stuffed.

Dont even feel like I have luxury of quitting now. As Akon says “We in too deep to turn back now D.” Lawl.

Ya tell me about it. My roomate, who Ive known since highschool, is killing me. I love him to death but fuck man, get that fucking pizza out of the room before I stab you in the face. Although lately he has been trying harder to be more supportive.

Another thing that annoys me is people asking me why im doing it. Like “do you think this is gonna get you more ass or something?” No fuck face im doing it for myself. I WANT to do this. Leave me alone, if you cant say anything constructive get the fuck out of my face.

Hahaha rant over. It must be time for another shake cause im getting cranky.

I relate to what you said about the other people.

I have actually avoided telling many people for this reason.

Keep strong, and remind yourself that you need to do this for your self, fuck everyone else. “Everyone else” is unfit and unhappy, so who gives a shit what they have to say?

Day 7: Still going strong. Did my walk at 9 am today. I started taking some melatonin with this diet and it does wonders, i sleep 8 hours max now, whereas on weekends it wouldnt be unusual for me to get 14 hrs +. And when I do wake up I dont feel tired, I am ready to go. Weighed myself today, 246 lbs, 10 down already. Happy with that, but gotta keep going. Hoping to lose in the neighboorhood of 25 lbs before this is done.

Random Note: Mixing Cinnamon in the orange creme shake does wonders, kill that nasty after taste. For me atleast.

Spent most of today planning for when I can eat proper food again. I ordered a new snowboard for christmas, but due to various difficulties it didnt get shipped. So now I’ve decided ill put the money to something more productive and get a steamer, a george forman, and a crockpot. I can always get a snowboard for my brithday.

I really want chicken and cauliflower again. Soon enough I have to tell myself.

Oh yeah, I got interoggated by one of my girl friends today about why I am being “anorexic” and starving myself. Took some time but I finall convinced her that there is definatley not a problem with me eating food, and I WILL be eating food soon. I guess the concern was nice, but misplaced. I know what I am doing. Plus, at 246 lbs I really doubt I am in any immediate danger of starving. Lol.

Ya im stil here, not much to report over the past few days. Still staying strong, its just part of my routine now. lost 16 lbs so far, my pants that were tight now fall of my butt.

looking forward to saturday’s food.
