I’m honored you’re asking me but I have to be honest and say I’ve never even done the movement. I’ve just seen it done online and thought about buying the attachment for my home gym, hence me asking if that’s what it was when you posted the pic. Truthfully I was thinking of asking you how you liked it so far!

That said, I will say that I’ve seen people face away from the bar when doing it, and squat while keeping their shins more vertical, sorta like a hack squat. Maybe give that a shot and see if its a better stimulus?

No comment on the barbell lengths as it would just be complete conjecture on my part. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
