I know, right?

I just think it’s funny how polarized people are by…everything. “Why, you’re not allowed to hate branch!”

Or vice versa…jeez, it’s called an OPINION for a reason. I just…don’t know what that reason is.

People throw acromegaly around too often. If phil’s head had actually grown, it would not be proportional growth. There are pros who I do think have shown signs like bulked up brow ridges that didn’t used to be there, spaced teeth that were less spaced 15 years ago and jaw growth, but throwing it at every guy because they look more freaky now is just bad info.

I don’t even think most of the changes we are seeing lately with the sizes is really “gh” anyway but growth factors and insulin. Something has been added…without the giant guts even some gym rats had in the 90’s. The pro’s look cartoonish…but at that level, that is the goal.

My goal was to look more the size of the NPC heavyweight and superheavies. I respect the pros, but I don’t exactly want to look like most of them. Even Roelly Winklaar who was originally more proportionate is now getting that "Macy’s parade float"n look.

But that freak factor is what makes it to that level now…and I do respect them for it.

I really don’t understand the people who get upset about it…and have found most who act like that the worst look the least like the people they even think look better.
Lol. Who knew, performing at the highest possible human levels is hard on the body? Why, I thought PROFESSIONAL bodybuilding was supposed to be about general wellness. Boy was I disillusioned!

/sarcasm…for now.

He’s more successful than me. Fuck that guy.

LOL so I can’t hate in the hate thread?
myself1992 wrote:

No. Now if you will kindly go fuck yourself, we can get back to hating on a guy who is pushing the human body to its limits. Kthxbai.
myself1992 wrote:

No, you’ve gotta make a separate hate thread hating on this one.
myself1992 wrote:

Hating on a dude professionally is fine; as ID noted, it gets stupid when attacks get personal, on a guy you don’t personally know.

Keep the hate professional I guess? Lol.
myself1992 wrote:

Sure you can, but you will get hated on for hating the hate thread. How could you not see that coming?

What is it exactly you dislike about his physique? Can you be more specific?

This isn’t a loaded question, I have no agenda whatsoever. I would just be interested to know exactly what it is that provokes this kind of sentiment towards Branch.

I am on the fence with this one, on the one hand I can see clearly he doesn’t have an aesthetic physique and might not be pleasing to the eye to some people. On the other hand I have to appreciate the hard work that’s gone into building this kind of physique; I don’t see many people with the sheer size he is carrying.

Disproportionate and awkward in performance.

Hard work is subjective from competitor to competitor and has no bearing on the stage display of the competitor. When you go to an art gallery, you see the final art, and not the work that went into it for months in the artist’s studio.

It’s not throwing it around that often, it’s pretty rarely said actually. I can’t think of the last time it was “thrown” at anyone, nor is it even meant as an insult of any kind in the first place.

There are many recent pics of Phil and his nose and head in general (particularly jaw) do not look the same size they did a few years ago. Seemingly I am unable to post pics without it being extremely long winded, but there are easy comparisons of this elsewhere.

The stomach etc is usely attributed to insulin, and often due to extreme overeating/ MASSIVE use of insulin. GH is known to increase every cell in the body, particularly causing growth of the wrists, jaw, feet and organs.

NONE of this is just my opinion either, there are other boards where literally dozens upon dozens of national level competitors freely admit to all of the above being side effects.

They also pretty much ALL attribute it to GH too, it’s generally alot cheaper and better quality than even 10 years ago.

Could you explain who this “sarcasm” is aimed at in this thread, as I have not seen any posts which you could be referring to so don’t really understand your point.

It wasn’t aimed a particular poster, it was me mostly agreeing with X’s sentiment. And laughing at the general population’s excuses for being lazy, aka “Oh I don’t lift weights cuz I don’t wanna look like him” (when looking at some pro BBer). Sure, that’s a valid concern for you buddy.

That kind of thing. Surely you know what I mean.

oh right I understand, didn’t see the connection between the 2 posts, but get you now.

on a similar note, i know it’s a cliche but it really is amazing how often you hear the “i don’t wanna get TOO big” in real life about ANYTHING related to weight training.

Yeah, I pretty much walk around almost fearing weight training coming up in conversation with women around, because of the risk of me going all-out explaining point by point why lifting weights won’t make them look like a female bodybuilder, and ultimately they may not want to be friends anymore lol.

You mean I can’t just pick up some weight every once in a while and look like Phil Heath?

FUCK. Why the hell do I bother then?

Wow. Nice to know I have such a close follower.

i wouldnt say I hate Branch but I dislike the gifts that have been given to him. Wolf should have won this year’s arnold. He was great at the olympia in 09 and deserved that placing. The problem was he beat people at this years olympia he really shouldn’t have i.e wolf, freeman and even hidetada(although I’m a large hidetada fan and may be biased).

The other thing that bothers me about him is that he keeps going on about his crap genetics, he had great genetics when he started out and before he tore anything. Now he looks like crap because he has managed to tear almost every major muscle group.

Its funny that a lot pictures posted in this thread aren’t Branch at his worst but more at his best.
