DeFranco's Movie

Anyone else seen it?

Trailer:

One of my favorite documentaries. Exposed me to the hell that is the prowler. Good for motivation.

Solid movie, bought it months ago. Intensity is an accurate description.

watching it now. First ten minutes and I love it.

i have it. Really gives you a feel of what DeFranco’s is like.

Got it…it’s awesome.

Got it… Deon Andersons part is great!

ITS THE CABLE GUY!!! lol

why is it in new jersey and im over here? NOT FAIR!

Watched it today. It’s pretty good.

It is always a great movie to watch when you are feeling lackadaisical.

A cool DVD, but I really wish it would’ve been longer.

Seen it last year. One of the most amazing movies I’ve seen, ever. I let this 47yr old man watch it and he said it was weird because he’s never seen these new ways of training. He’s an old gym rat. Head-band, juice, bandana, 70’s rock. Oh well, he’ll never know what it’s like in a gym for new athletes now a days.

I also wish it could have been longer.

Mr. DeFranco(Joe’s dad) is fucking ripped!

Yeh definately should of been longer and I would of liked to see more of the training, especially the strongman contest.

Yeah man, exactly. And when you are thinking “oh god training is so stale” that’s when you realize that you’re like 1/2 the size of the people at DeFrancos and in 1/4 their condition, so there’s a long way to go.

^Great motivation when you see kids half your size perform twice your work.

Thought the movie was great! loved the prowlers

Saw it. Way too over-the-top with bravado and emotion for my taste.

I’m interested in the scientific theory and concepts behind training, not the “meathead mentality” that goes into videos like these.

I don’t need heavy metal music blaring, I don’t need a grudge. I don’t need to dress like a hoodlum. I don’t need an inferiority complex. I don’t need an IQ of 85 in order to enjoy resistance training.

I think DeFranco is a good coach based on his programming but I can definitely skip the “hate the world” attitude that is so heavily associated with this type of training.

I really don’t give a shit about his childhood upbringing or about the “blood, sweat and tears” of his athletes. It’s the same old BS in every sport. Athletes train hard. They overcome setbacks and personal fears. I already know this. Who doesn’t?

Someone either needs a hug or an ammonia capsule, I’m not sure which.

DeFranco is one of the best at what he does, and the gym lifts are great, but I cringed watching the technique employed on some of the strongman lifts. It seems like if Joe can analyze the number of strides in a cone drill with such precision, he could teach his athletes how to do a yoke walk properly.

So… you basically didn’t like the fun parts of the movie.

Was it really that atrocious? I don’t know much about strongman lifts, I assume you’re talking about what looked like a squat rack they were carrying around?

I think when they show bad form its due to lots of weight or lots of fatigue, and they dont always lift like that.
