I think a fair number of folks who commit find this to be true (present company not included, I tend to do terribly in the months leading up to summer).
In fact, it’s why I participate each year, even though my own progress hasn’t ever been super-stellar: I love tracking with what you all get up to, and it’s never a disappointment!
Is there some “official”/unofficial rules or guidelines or something? Or it’s just post a pic/video at the start, and post an ending pic/video and ppl vote?
I’m in if this goes down. I’m in a weird spot right now where I’m training and eating in a good way, but my goals are changing and I’m thinking I need some kind of paradigm shift. Best analogy I can give is I’ve been building a woodland log cabin this whole time but starting to think I want a bunch bungalow instead.
While, once again, I’m not going to officially play because it makes my brain do some weird obsessive stuff… This year I am going to commit to working on a few things and need some accountability. So “unofficially” I’m going to commit to the following:
Find and follow a plan start to finish with no personal modifications (adding ridiculous amounts of volume and/or extra stuff)
Gain 10 pounds.
Maybe actually start a training log in here.
Regardless of how this goes for me, I’m super excited to watch all of you T-ransform and as always, I am here and more than happy to help with any and all food/nutrition stuff!
As much as I realize tongue is fully in cheek here, in the bodybuilding world, it’s funny how the fact things worked for Ronnie Coleman tends to mean they ONLY work for Ronnie Coleman.
Example
“Coach, how come I can’t have any sauce with my chicken and rice? Ronnie Coleman put KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce on his chicken”
“Alright, well, for one: you aren’t Ronnie Coleman…”
I always loved the Ronnie stories. He seems like a genuinely happy guy that just goes to work. One of my favorite stories was he asked for a bodybuilding program, got a list of sets and reps that we’d all criticize on here, and then just ran it for 15 years.
I’m so excited for all of these, and particularly the last, because it will offer those of us you’ve supported so well to reciprocate. And let me be clear that for me, the greatest gift you’ve given me has had nothing to do with food choices, but rather support in backing off during stressful or chaotic times (“every day and twice on Sundays,” you said when I guiltily expressed that I thought I needed rest more than training).
My log has been a lot of “GO GO GO!” from others posting in it, but just as valuable has been the support in prioritizing emotional wellbeing and enjoying food and fun with the people I care about. It’s really helped with the sustainability of training well, because I’m not OFF or ON now, I’m enjoying my “pleasant and stable structure,” into which I can insert some chaos™ without falling apart.
Brilliant, I’m in, thanks for pointing me to this thread @T3hPwnisher
I’m running a Spartan with my childhood BFF in April, so I intend to not embarrass myself. Then a Spartan in August, alone, and intend to really seriously rock it.
So those line up with me being T-ransformed right along with this challenge.
