Silver and Steel

100 percent work minus relaxation plus drinking times two equals… Carry the one… Oops, should’ve multiplied before adding. This is why my degree isn’t in math.

Glad y’all are feeling and doing better!

Covid workout this morning - was actually fun.

I really want my position to get better, because I think I’m big but weak because I’m sloppy on my lifts (plus fat, but we aren’t talking about that); I don’t have a setup to lift heavy at home, so this is a good opportunity to figure it out.

Anyway, today was upper body stuff

  1. Warm-up Circuit x 2
  • 15 inverted rows
  • 10 BTN press
  • 15 BB rows
  • 5 sliding push-ups (each side)
  • 5 clapping push-ups
  1. Superset:
  • Close-Grip Bench MR reps
So on this one it’s a 3-second eccentric, then 1/4 rep up and hold that for 2 seconds, then back down and finish normal speed. I don’t know why or where I saw it was called MR reps, but I did somewhere, so that’s what I’m calling it so I never have to type this again.
    45/4
    135/4
    145/6
    155/6
    170/6
    170/5
  • External Rotator
    8/6 each side
    12/6 each side x 3
  1. Superset:
  • Pull-ups MR reps
These were insane hard. I was doing them off a steel beam, which made me feel like Rocky, but it was all fingers.
    BW/4 x 4
  • Band Face Pull
    -/10 x 4
  1. Superset:
  • Close-Grip Incline
    4-second negatives
    135/10 x 3
  • Bent Row
    135/10 x 3
  1. Superset:
  • Half-kneeling Landmine Press
    -/12
    25/10
    35/4
  • One-arm BB Row
    -/12
    25/10
    35/8
  1. Conditioning
We got 6" of snow last night, so I went out to the backyard and ran 10 or 12 sprints with the dogs (about 60-70m each, I believe). It was pretty fun. Basically I went until they both wanted to go in. You can’t gauge off the big one, because he quits after two, so I went off the little one - when she cut in front of my feet and tripped me I figured she was saying she was cold and it was time.

Man, Covid gets all the attention. I had some non-Covid virus and it sucked for two weeks. I’d feel fine once I loaded up on sudafed and ibuprofen but my throat felt like it was bleeding every morning and I had tons of drainage. It sounds like your version of the Vid is better.

I tried to squat today with the same pauses as yesterday, but my lower back started hurting pretty quick.

I kept messing with it for 30 minutes, then just shoveled snow.

That’ll show that pesky lower back who’s boss.

What’s said is it then took a ton of ibuprofen to go back to work… and I sit at a computer.

Drink Tom Brady has so many Lombardis he’s tossing them off a boat for a party gag. Ol’ TfP can’t shovel a little snow without ruining his day

Say that your wife recovers but you still have it, and you re-infect your wife and then recover, but then she re-infects you, and so on… theoretically wouldn’t you just have to stay in isolation forever?
