Have you lost your mojo?

Eh. Nothing time won’t heal.

I’ve been eating right, taking daily walks, and doing some half-ass lifting - I just am not into it right now. I don’t have any goals I care about, and the real world (like it is for everyone, and I get that) is just a bit of a grind right now. I’ll get over my whininess at some point and remember having both a job and the physical tools to do this are privileges and to be grateful.

Thanks for checking in! I’m not as good as getting into people’s logs as I know I should be. It’s not a lack of caring, just a lack of time spent - I tend to pull this up on my phone while doing something else, and just respond to the top 3 topics that pop up.

Back at it today

  1. HS Low Row
    -/12
    1pps/8
    2pps/6
    3pps/8
    3pps/10

  2. MAG Pulldown
    70/6
    115/6
    170/10
    170/8

  3. Rack Pull
    135/3
    225/3
    315/6
    365/6
    405/6
None of these sets were tough. I had the pins one hole off the floor, which I think is my norm, but maybe it’s time to lower.

  4. Face Pull
    3 sets of 12

  5. DB Pullover
    60/10 x 2

  6. DB Shrugs
    75/30 x 2

Abs and cardio at lunch (when I hope to wrap it up for the day… shhh…!)

Any of you guys ever do any of those fitness challenge apps? My wife is doing one and it’s got her doing more barbell than she normally would. I’m just wondering if I’d enjoy something like that.
On the flip side, every time I’ve tried something different, I haven’t… well, tried

Although I’m disappointed a fellow southerner delivered me that message without a single “ain’t”

Had a lot of fun today!

Today I worked up to a couple maxes and then did a crazy long arm workout.

Warmed up with some shoulder mobility stuff - I’m definitely finding problems here.

  1. Bench
    Worked up to 285 x 1

  2. Chin-up
    Worked up to +90lbs. x 1

  3. Superset 1:

  • BB Curl: 3x8
  • Skullcrusher: 3x8
  1. Superset 2:
  • DB Hammer Curl 3x6
  • DB Skullcrusher 3x6
  1. Giant Set: 3x15
  • DB Spider Curl
  • Cable Pressdown
  • BB Reverse Curl
  • Close Push-ups

Then some stretches for a change because my arms burned

That’s the beauty of training to suffer, the older I get and the harder it is, the more I suffer and the more enjoyable it is

Thanks man! I’m enjoying the last few days, at least.

For real! Except I still don’t want to do Murph.

Today was Groundhog Day, as has been every day since March 13, 2020

  1. Front Squat
    Worked up to 315 x 1

  2. Deadlift
    Worked up to 455 x 1

Then I did leg press, leg extensions, leg curls, hack squats, and calf raises just getting a very quick pump on each.

Today was a full day of core and cardio. I don’t normally do abs like that - kinda eye-opening how quick I wore out

We gots the coroners! So now I have to work out at home for the next couple weeks. I’ll do some combo of adapting what I’m doing/ just doing whatever I feel like. I’ve got a bar and 300 total pounds, bench, chin-up bar, and bands, so what I don’t have is excuses

Thanks gents. We felt a little flu-y for a day or two, but now we seem fine. I just didn’t think about it (I figured I was tired and work was annoying), so I’m sure I accidentally exposed folks, but my wife went and got tested and there we are.

Anyway - all good. Thanks! Now it’s just the home schooling for two weeks. Ah!

It’s like a stay-cation, but with all the work and none of the relaxing  Hope y’all get better soon! I know a few people who’ve had it, and two of the three felt nothing or mild flu symptoms, while the other said it was like a flu on steroids.

But twice the drinking!

Thanks! I think we’re fine. I’m fine; my wife felt pretty crappy for a couple of days, but now she seems fine too. She can’t smell or taste, she says, but with the kids home from school for two weeks that may be a blessing.
