Nice work on the dreadmill!
I find myself getting slightly fatigued when I read your log these days. You’re such a bro lifter (so many exercises
) and I’m really embracing the title of my log.

Thanks!
Haha. Every time I try to get out of the bro zone, I fail. I’ve just gotta embrace it. I can plug away better than actually think, it seems.
The name change took me a second - but it’s slick! By the avatar, I knew, and then I just caught up a bit in your log, but I still had to get my rusty brain turning.
I made sure to keep my pic to help with the transition. I used the same user name for everything when the internet blew up. That means that hacking one site could give someone access to all my accounts with that name (they’d be able to crack my passwords).
My old name was the same as my first AOL account!
In regards to training, I don’t have the time fight my natural tendencies anymore. In most regards, I’m on the decline physically according to science so I’ll just strive for maintenance of muscle and hopefully gain some strength.
This is kind of where I am, but opposite conclusions. I know I can never again do things I once could athletically. I still seem to be able to grow/ lean out aesthetically, though, so that’s what I think about. When I think about what I can’t do, I just get sad and don’t care.
Reading this conversation almost makes me glad I was skinny and unathletic as a youth! Still plenty of PRs left in every pursuit!
Don’t worry! I believe we can improve into our 50’s, but my life is such that I don’t want to do what would be necessary.
Agreed I want to be Joe Stockinger when I’m older:

4 plates for a triple at 90 (sumo!). To be fair I’m not fussed about the longevity but whatever age I get to I want to be like that! Reminds me of Moses (Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever. Deut 34:7)
Fuck that. I don’t want to still be doing this at 90. That’s time to chill the fuck out and enjoy what’s left of life.
You don’t do it now!
I can’t say that wasn’t deserved.
Haha revenge is dish best served cold ![]()
Then I’ve got some good news for most of us…
Arms, calves (they are not shorts-ready!) and 20 minutes of incline treadmill this morning
That’s what I’m doing now. I’ve put a lot of effort into this hobby for minimal returns over the past 10 years. It’s time to stop stressing about it and just enjoy it.
And you guys make fun of me for pure vanity training!
I have never made fun of you. If anything, you’re one of the most consistent posters here (minus a couple speed bumps). You know what you like and it works for you so you keep doing it. It’s a crazy approach. ![]()
I’m joking. And I’m with you! When I get out of my comfort zone, I break my minor good habits
The “wrong” program done right still works. I’m guilty of looking for the magic protocol. I think it’s mostly because the models for programs are enhanced and have those gigantic delts and that’s all I’ve ever wanted.
I get suckered in by the YouTube videos of dudes doing crazy athletic things and think I want to do 40 box jumps and then squat 765lbs. and then run 1/4 mile repeats all in 10 minutes. Turns out I don’t actually want to do that, at least not bad enough.
He sure is @Frank_C mate
One of the nicest guys on here
Well thanks. Shh, though; you’ll damage my brand.
