Don’t worry about it too much. It’s just amateur psychology hour in your log. ![]()
I consider us pros
I’ve lost no weight the last two weeks, so it’s time to start getting serious about calories. This is about the time I really had to buckle down a couple years ago when I did this right, so it’s ok, I just need to stop screwing around.
You’re in good company.
Threw in some solidarity with @ChongLordUno and did Gamma Bomb’s first back workout today. They were adding new stuff where I usually do the landmine, so I traded out some rows (I do this with impunity anyway), but generally same concept.
Only 5 minutes elliptical. I thought I’d want to do more cardio after. I was wrong. Doing it first remains the better choice for me.

I’m changing up how I do cardio: I’m going to get my weekly total done in fewer days (light days and days off), so my harder days are shorter.
I’m also dropping cardio slightly as I think I’ve dropped calories relatively significantly. I’ll at least create a new “base” and we’ll go from there.
I think I’ve totally abandoned dark horse. Sorry everyone. I was giving myself too many excuses not to do it, especially in unfamiliar gyms.

I lifted later today and didn’t get meals in beforehand. Threw me off!
I’m loving this program so far
Awesome pumps.
Walk out the gym feeling like Ric Flair
Weeks 5 and 6 start being a grind because the volume is way up, but push through!
I really do like these programs. You get to do some heavy lifting, and you feel like you’re a badass like you said.
Just had a look at weeks 5&6 there
Guess it will be 5am starts at the gym ![]()

Legs!
Still doing my wussy versions. Of course, I guess that applies to everything for me.

I expected this to be the end of leg day after that intro. I did some level 7.0 incline walking on the dreadmill last night and it definitely felt like leg work.
That made me chuckle. And gave me a way out for next week!
Random question: anyone have a mattress they really like? We have been trying the Purple 2 for the last few weeks, but I’m ready to send it back. I don’t love it
We have a Serta i comfort from 2013. It’s memory foam and we have no complaints.
Sleep Number. We’ve had it for about 10 years, and it’s awesome.
My parents got one a few years ago and also love it.
I can’t believe people still sleep on traditional spring mattresses.
Thank you both - I’ll check those both out in the morning!
Not a traditional mattress but with jacked up shoulders I’ve relied on a baffled waterbed. Nothing comes close to the comfort for me…but everyone is different
I have had a sleep number and they are great, but I honestly like this bamboo hybrid mattress I have now better.
I got a $250 memory foam mattress off of amazon, with the rationale being if I had to buy a new one every year for 10 years, it’d still probably be around or less than the cost of a name brand one.
3 years later, still love it. California king, too.
