Silver and Steel

Thanks all!

So I’ve been obsessively googling and laying on mattresses at the store.

I think I’m looking at either Brooklyn Aurora or Ghostbed Luxe, kinda falling in line with @flappinit’s thought process of just replacing more often . I’ll report back!

I’m crazy intrigued by the bamboo bed though @ChickenLittle ! Where did you find that?

@timber I like the waterbed idea too! With dogs, kids, and two of us, I think we won’t do it right now, but you don’t hear about those much anymore so it’s still cool!

I love this group - you’re always sharing. Thanks all!

Man, my brother had one of those when we were growing up and I hated it. I’m sure they’ve improved since then but his was one big balloon. Every move sent waves across the bed and it was a pain in the arse to get out of the thing.

Haha, I used to have a recurring nightmare where my friends parents waterbed would eat me. Those things scare me too.

I watched Jaws as a kid (too young for it). I had nightmares that night so I crawled into my parents’ bed. They had a water bed and that made my night infinitely worse!

This is definitely another redneck story :weary: Mine was a take out from the local furniture store. (As in, the customer buys a new mattress and the store takes out the old one.) It was king sized and I needed a twin. The tags indicated it was less than six months old, and it was such in such good shape, I brought it home and it surgically split it into two XL twins. Yeah, I posted about it kicking my ass in my log. It was worth it! Sewed up the sides with some extra material, covered it with a nice zippered mattress cover and Viola!

I can tell you for certain it has 12 layers of various types of foam covering the dozens of individually wrapped coil springs on the inside that sit on a solid base. It’s 16 inches thick and the one draw back is that it’s heavy.

That is a full motion waterbed…lol The ones with the individual chambers are much different. The look and feel like a regular mattress.

I saw the mention of baffles so I assumed that the product has improved.

Hate to admit it, but I have had both kinds over the years. You kids missed all the fun!

The burn is incredible

Missed yesterday so I ended up doing the upper body pump workout and the arm workout together today while my son was at a birthday party.

I lost just under a pound this week. So at least I’m still moving, but it’s not quick. I’m going to ride it out for next week and see what happens before I make adjustments. I’m still fat enough I’d like to see quicker drops.
