Happy Birthday! Forty-four is just a kid.

Happy birthday!

I loved my 40’s. Although it’s possible I would say that about every decade - they’ve all brought different good things (e.g. little kids! big kids! no kids!), and I seem to be wired for gratitude.

Thanks all!

I find it particularly moving the ladies have especially enjoyed their 40s. A testament to you both and the power of taking control of our own health/ circumstances/ etc.

My 20’s were crap. My 30’s were much better. My 40’s have been pretty great. Other than my up close vision going to total shit when I hit 40. But I look pretty cute in glasses and they hide my crows feet so no complaints there.

I was a big fan of my 20s. I’m learning that’s apparently not the norm. If I already wasn’t weirdo enough… I enjoyed high school too!

I’m sure I don’t look cute in my glasses, but probably cuter than walking into walls

I dunno: my pug pup is still full tilt running into walls and it’s downright adorable.

That made me chuckle, proving your point!

No training since Friday - took a full 24 hours to get back home yesterday! Volleyball tournament today and back on the road early tomorrow morning. I should be able to get a full week of training in next week.

I’m kind of waffling a little on what to do next. I really prefer following a program, because I definitely go a little harder and smarter, but it’s tough to adjust on the fly so much with the travel. Not giant problems either way, just what’s in the ol’ brain.

I came home with, what I considered, a great beard. My wife and daughter mocked me mercilessly last night and made me shave it this morning. Cruel creatures.

I have truly come to appreciate a good beard. My husband has a wonderful beard and keeps threatening to shave it. I honestly might cry if he ever follows through. You have my condolences on the loss.

I think these monsters just take the opportunity to be mean!

The beard is certainly a polarizing topic - some ladies seem to love it and some hate it. Mine used to have a good deal of red, so now it’s a lot of white - hence the ridicule

:rofl::rofl: I used to hate my husband’s beard and then one day he talked about shaving it and I realized that it had wormed its way into my heart. It’s starting to turn grey in places. I love when it is freshly shaped and oiled. I think a white beard would be very distinguished. Don’t let the bullies bring you down!

I grow the anti-beard. It is an impossibility for me.

Full gym in the bottom of this hotel - pretty cool.
I was incredibly dehydrated rolling into this one… like Baghdad in the summertime kinda feeling. As a result, everything was a grind and my elbows didn’t feel great - so I cut some of the stuff at the end short.

Tried to do a push workout yesterday, but my elbow hurt so bad I couldn’t do anything. I spent about half an hour with different cable and band movements trying to get it to open up, but no go. I guess I could have just done the left side, but I didn’t think of it (and I was annoyed).

@j4gga2 gave me some good advice in his thread. I’ll implement that over the next couple weeks and see how we go.

Just a little side note. I have had problems with my ulnar nerve in the past. I got a brace that I used when I slept for like a month or two. It really helped to get the numbness to stop. Not the most comfortable thing to sleep in, but hugging a pillow helped. It just keeps your elbow in a specific position so your nerve isn’t being irritated while you sleep. It helps give the nerve a chance to calm down.

That sounds helpful. I definitely sleep exactly like you’re not supposed to. Bent arm, under my pillow, on my side. I try not to, but then wake up there. Do you know what the brace is called?

Mine is similar to this. Helps keep your elbow slightly bent. Like I said, it’s a bit to get used to, but it helped me.

Thanks! I’m annoyed because I’m relatively limited on that side right now, so speeding this up would be very welcome.
