Thought my pecs were going to explode…squat form not as happy as I’d like it…had to muscle a few of them up off my toes…weak with hunger. Food! Food !

Skipped Friday and Saturday workouts…back was tweaked and after trying to warm up my squats on Friday it was easy to rationalize taking the day off…Saturday…soccer from 6:00 am to 8 pm plus dehydrated, sunburnt, exhausted etc…

Competition is this Saturday the 20th. Weighing in at 188 right now…so need to drop 7 lbs…pretty big eating at dinner last night including lots of cheese, steak fajitas (no tortilla) tomato salad, raw oysters, steamed mussels and squid ceviche with melon for dessert…so…hoping I’m down to 186 tomorrow…hopefully won’t have to hit the streets jogging in a trash bag.

Plan is to bench today 103300 with 4 minutes in between sets 2 of which will be on treadmill at 3.5 mph. Squat 103300 tomorrow morning.

Calories around 800.

Wed and Thursday I’ll work up to a 1 rep max to see what I’ve accomplished in all 3 lifts.

Goal for meet:

Squat = 355
Bench = 335
Dead = 455
Total = 1,145 which would put me 100 lbs roughly over last competition

I think I’ll hit these no problem, but Wed and Thurs may say different…so I’ll be hitting these on my second attempt…third attempt will add 15 - 20 lbs depending on how I feel. First 2 meets I did I was very conservative (I think)…so…want to push it a little harder this one.

Drop 7 pounds in less than a week and maintain strength? You’re not planning on amputating something, are you?

Just weighed myself and hit 185…I gotta get to 181.9 so it’s only like 3 pounds to go…I know I suck at this weight loss thing, but promise to do better maintaining this time around !

Buy some leaches and do a little blood letting. That’s sure to knock off a couple pounds. Or you could shave off all body hair and go on an only grapefruit diet. May lose weight but also bad for da wang and strength.

183.6 this morning…I think I actually managed it pretty well this time around…last November I’m pretty sure I lost 15 pounds in 10 days…I’m hyrdated, eating 500 - 1,000 calories a day the past few days…got 103300 for bench press on Monday and 73300 for squats last night…just wussed out on the last 3 sets…anyway…ramping up to 1,200 calories today…all good food, kale and tomato omelette for breakfast, salmon and spinach for lunch…will walk a mile at lunch today and then another one tonight…test my maxes tomorrow and hopefully tear things up.

Great training while dropping weight. Looking forward to see the numbers you put up at the meet.

How are you handling the 800 cals a day? I would be a raging ass.

So…bathroom scale battery is dead this morning…feeling pretty light, but did up calories to 1,475 yesterday…scale in the gym at work puts me between 182 and 183…feeling pretty good.

Tested my deadlift…haven’t pulled in a month roughly as I’ve been doing the smolov junior for bench and squat…435 came up pretty good…hammies and groin are tender…will open deadlift with 187.5kg/413.4lb which is what I hit for my third try last meet…2nd attempt will be th 435 lbs and depending on how that goes I’ll go for 452 or 457 on my third attempt…

As always, I am a perfectly polite gentleman.

Squat attemps:

147.5kg/325lbs
157.5kg/348 lbs (just hit this pretty good I believe in the gym)
15kg/363 lbs - just walked out and did half squat with 370…don’t think I’d be able to get all the way down and up…may actually wuss out and go for 162.5 kg/358lbs which would be 10% more than my last meet…guess I’ll see how I feel with the 348.

Will test bench in an hour or two…lower back is a tad tight…weighed in at 183 this a.m.
