Ahhhh snap!
That’s a really awesome bench, especially without a lift off.
Concerning your other post in GAL, I’ve shucked a few oysters in my time and am quite happy to pass on a few pointers…
Tip 1. Safety is of paramount importance so find yourself a comfortable position to work in, maybe sit down in your favourite armchair?
Tip 2. Get the oyster in a stable position where it won’t slip. I suggest cradling it in your lap/groin, then take a firm grip on it. The oyster, not your groin.
Tip 3. Force the point of your knife (preferably blunt) into the hinge of the shell and violently thrust the knife from side to side to prise open the shell.
Tip 4. Run the knife along the top of the flat shell, twisting it slightly, until you reach the muscle that attaches the oyster to the shell, then sever the muscle and lift off the top shell. Voila! It’s that easy.
I realise that’s a lot of information, so if you only take one thing from this make it the following: ALWAYS, ALWAYS remember, knife TOWARDS body.
You’re welcome.

You want me for my frozen meat? I can work with that.
Nice Bench’in.
I’ve concluded especially after my last meet, if there is doubt in my mind the squat isn’t low enough, it probably isn’t.
I’m deep like that.

gotta love the grunt and the horizontalness of my squat!
Nice pause and gut work.

I got nothing but guts! Thanks gorilla.
Good squatting. About the grunting . . . trainer smacks me every time I do it. Tells me gotta keep core firm, suck in air at top, hold it, don’t let out until racked. Do you notice a difference?
Nice squat!
Yeah, I’ve been told to not let my air out starting in the hole. I don’t necessarily hold it until I rack. But I hold it until I hit any sticking points. Then blowing sometimes helps.
Obviously works for you, though.

Hmmm…I think one reason my squat is lagging is I have very poor cardiovascular health…I suck wind walking up a slight paved incline if I’m carrying my gym bag with nothing but clothes and shoes…or at least that’s what I rationalize…I’ve been trying to focus on my breath, but with my competition in 3 weeks, needing to drop 9 lbs and getting a rec soccer league with 400 kids up off the ground I am lucky to just get out there and lift something heavy…
