Powerlifters Who Jog

I am a powerlifter who lives on the beach in South Florida. I am also single and loads of hot chicks run on the sidewalks along the beach.
Here’s where things go WRONG: I have tried to jog, not only to increase my GPP, but also to meet girls with great bodies.

I am flexible, stretch often and train like a maniac. I am 5’11" compete as a 198#, my RAW numbers are 570SQ,375BN,605DL.

EVERYTIME I run my knees kill me for a week, now I am no pussy and know pain, but damn my knees kill, walking hurts for a week.

I wear new top of the line runnning shoes and have correct form.

I am writing this after getting home after a great day of working out in a gym with no chicks, but see loads of them running near the beach, but Im scared to fuck my knees up again.
Does anyone else have these issues, if so what helps(ice wont)?

Heavier individuals need a different type of shoe, the shock on the knee requires better padding. Try this:

Running kills my knees too, but every once in a while i drag myself out to do it for some reason. I guess a proper warm up might help more than anything.

Question though, do you really plan to meet any of these girls while they’re running? What will you do, start chasing them? Will you bring your phone with you so you can collect numbers?

Even if you do manage to pull it off, i wonder what the girl will think when you’re unable to walk down stairs on your big date because your knees are like a 90 year old woman’s.

Get a cute dog and play with him, girls love that.

What if you just walked or biked. Or try running on the actual beach, the sand would be easier… or swimming… or just hang out on the beach to pick up the ladies.

get some roller blades or a bike.

but the previously suggested dog idea is brilliant … if you are just using it to get tail, borrow one from a friend.

better yet, think BIG … start a dog sitting business … i am 100% sure chicks dig jacked guys walking 5 or so dogs down the beach … it will give you all kinds of ins … such as, “hey join me and my b!tches”

How did you do at USAPL Nationals?

Running on cement is one of the worst things you can do for your knees/shins. Even lighter guys often have tons of problems and injuries. If you’re going to run, find a softer surface. There’s no way you can do this that isn’t bad for you.

hi,

a couple of things:

  1. find a smarter way of pulling your chicks - do not think it’s worth wrecking your knees for them
    (get a kettlebell and do your GPP on the beach - maybe while you toss your bell around you’ll get their attenetion - keep 1-2 small size for them when you get them to join :slight_smile:

  2. see someone who can assess your foot positioning when you walk/runm and get their advice on type of shoes you NEED…
    the fact the ones you got are the most expensive does not mean that they are the best, or even suitable for you!

Roller blades, do-rags, massive wrap around shades, a large medallion, cycle shorts and an optional vest and you’ll be set for the broad walk.

seriously for running i found nike free’s aliviated a number of my knee and ankle problems. I dont run much but i found they helped. But we cant really say much without seeing your running gait

I bombed, opened with 676 squat, called on depth, it felt heavy, judging very strict, next 676 I buried, off balance then fell, then like an idiot went 704 for a PR and just got crushed.
The meet director said that I could complete the meet but total would not count, so pissed off and discouraged I watched with the crowd.
I dont like gear that much and am going to do 100%raw meets also. thanks for asking I wish I had a better story, even if I hit my best, the competition would have placed top 3.

Well, at least you had the balls to show up. If this was your first bomb, it’s probably good you got it behind you anyway.

Yea, I tried this too. Went great for about 4 sessions, then last Friday I went out, felt good and my knee is all swole and I can’t squat or dead. Its getting better however. I learned my lesson. I’m gonna stick to the elliptical, the bike and brisk walking.

Real men don’t run, especially if they weigh over 250lbs.

X, you know more than most universities, I am only 198, 210 off season, I see bigger dudes running all the time.
If my legs,back and body are sooo strong, how can bdwt hurt me?
Lets get this straight- I dont have to run, but the little hotties do, I might as well join AEROBICS cause there are NO hot chicks chalked up in the powerrack.
Running in sand kills my calves/ankles and once again NO girls.
