Five pounds for the first week of V-Diet for such a big guy doesn’t sound right.
This week I got two other people starting the V-Diet and they lost 4.7kg and 6kg respectively. One is a 25 year old male on meds with weight gain side effects, one is a 50 yr old woman. If I remember rightly my loss on V-Diet was at a minimum 1.5kg in the last week.
I just think he should get tested as he’s on a very restrictive diet (I think calculating it, it’s about 1500cal/day?) and not losing an appropriate amount.
Who cares who’s fault it is, there seems to be a problem given previous test cases.

You’re totaly wrong.
He’s been eating pretty much the same amount of cals for the last 2 months or so. If we assume that a metabolism adaptation occured, 5lbs sound really good.
Plus, 5kg on the first week of a low carb diet is normal since you get rid of the glycogen stored in your muscles. Remember, for each gram of glycogen, about 3 grams of water is stored. Novagreg’s been on a lower carb diet for 3 months. As he increased his carbs intake this week, he eventually stored some water while losing some BF.

Jeez, are you actually TRAINING people ??
I didn’t pay much attention to his carbs previously I didn’t realise they were so low. You’re right.
I just have seen much better results personally in my second week and in the last three days of the first week after all glycogen was gone.
On past experience I was expecting more than 2kg, especially in the first week but maybe you’re right.

I’m doing the sets of 3 on the gravitron machine, which is lightening the load by 20 pounds.
Second, who the fuck are you to call me out on that? You’re not in the gym with me. You’re acting like I said I’m doing sets of 3 with 100 pounds of additional weight.
For all the people who are doing nothing but criticizing, offer zero constructive criticism about what’s helped you achieve your goals, you should seriously put half the effort into making a log about your own training, nutritiong, progress, pics, etc. that you’ve put into your criticisms.
We’re all just grains of sand in the scheme of the universe, and hey, you feel like hot shit putting yourself over on my thread? Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Greg,
Who the fuck is he? Who the fuck is he?! Apparently he is not only a wanksta, but the ORIGINAL wanksta that begat all other wankstas…sorta like Dracula is to vampires. Maybe wankstas are the uncle of the E-thugs as well? Who knows.
Congrats on the 5lb + inches lost in you first week - keep up the solid work and cock slap the haters.

I’ve been following nova’s PC and his discussion thread since the beginning. I’ve not commented to date because I think most feelings (positive or negative) have been covered. However, I feel Wanksta’s comment is out of line.
Everyone has different abilities and different issues that they are dealing with. Some people can put up big numbers, some people can run a fast 40, others can jump out of the gym. We all have different starting points. A 135 bench may be a joke to you, but it would be a huge achievement for certain people.
Instead of calling someone out on his numbers, congratulate him on putting the effort in. How many people do you even see in the weight room doing pull-ups? If he is lying, why do you care? We should all lift for only one person and that is ourselves.
Hey Nova, while I think you have been full of crap about some things I also think that it has sparked you in to pissing everyone off. THIS IS A GOOD THINK. Get mad and show everyone how wrong they are.
I just did the V-Diet so I know what your saying about the hunger pains. Week 3 was by far the easiest for me.
Keep on track and you can be the one laughing in the end mate!!!
5lbs lost is great especially that you’ve been on a low carb diet beforehand. It also means that you’ll consistently lose a fair amount each week as you couldnt have had much water weight lost this week.
As for strength standards I can just about do 3 pull ups. I’m 90kg, I can deadlift 150kg (330 lbs)
Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately, some of the critics weaknesses are mental.
I’m not going to claim that there are no idiots on the forums, but it seems to me that most of the criticism you’ve received is VERY much deserved. From what I can tell, you’re lucky to even still be in the PC.
I’m not an expert by any means, but the v-diet isn’t some special miracle diet. The reason why people have success on it is because there’s really no way to mess it up without knowing. It’s simple to follow.
Switching from a solid food diet with similar macro breakdowns (perhaps with a few more calories for digesting) to the v-diet shouldn’t suddenly induce weight loss (especially after months of being low cal and with prior weight loss). So 5lbs congrats, but to me, it says even more so that there’s something we’re missing from the first 3 months.
Im not sure about anyone else on this thread but i could not give a crap about what weight you are on this Clinic because at the end of the day is doesnt matter all that much.
All im interested in is what your pictures are like at this stage, because at the end of the day appearance is whats judged.
Im also finding it very interesting that Chris is been so lenient with you now. I was under the impression all your measurements and stats were up on the friday. Now your on day 9 with no pics up. Lets get the pics of day 7 rather than day 9.
Gus and that Girl was able to carry out this simple request then i dont see why you should be different. Lets see the progress because thats why were all wasting some time of our lives with genuine interest to SEE if a change has been made with you.

That’s right.
Sorry the burst your bubble guys, but most people are going on the v-diet because it looks like a quick fix and it’s cookie cutter. Oh yeah you’re going to crave salad and steamed veggies. But anyone on a low-carb/low-cals diet would. I’ve been there, I know what I’m talking about (I’m a FBB).
It’s not going to change your habits. If you don’t know how to manage your time and learn to cook real food how it’s gonna change anything when you return to solid meals? On the long run, It’s not going to give you an edge, as opposed to precision nutrition stuff for instance. Plus, it’s not healthy at all. People need to eat vegg, fruits and meat in order to get rid of fast food craving, not powder…
I’ve even finished the v-diet earlier this year exactly as laid out.
Therefore, I think I have the right and the experience to say that there is something absolutely wrong here. Sorry to the supporters, but he needs to find out if he has a medical problem, or needs to come clean.
Greg has been handed a golden opportunity. Let’s face the facts, anyone that allows themselves to be so mentally weak that they become morbidly obese represents someone in dire need of help from the outside.
I’m not for or against Greg, but you definitely need to educate yourself on what the term “Morbidly Obese” actually means, because it ain’t this guy…
The definition of morbid obesity is a BMI of 40 or higher.
According to Novagreg:
“My initial weigh in was on that same scale, so I honestly believe I was probably about 270-275 during that, which also means that at one point I was over the 300 pound mark.”
At a height of 6’1" and a weight of 300 pounds (which he admits to having carried at one time) he would have a BMI of 39.6, which is basically the lower bound for morbid obesity.
I know that BMI isn’t the best of measurements, but it does define what qualifies as “morbid obesity”.
