Get Jacked Fast... OMG

So, today I did the first workout from CT’s “Get Jacked Fast”. Thought I was going to die.

I had the bright idea of replacing back squats with front squats for the first exercise… And took my 8RM weight (187 lbs), thinking: well, this should be cake. Barely managed to do 6 on the first set. 5 on the second set, and had to pause after the first 3 reps to get even that much in. Dropped weight to 176 lbs for sets 3 and 4, and barely managed to do 5 reps in each set with a pause in each…

So, I was already dying by the time I was done with the first two exercises. By the Romanian Deadlifts, I already knew to humble myself when picking the weight, but even with a very light weight (200 lbs), it was still tough as hell. I was spent after 4 exercises, had to replace lunges with leg presses, because there was no way in hell I’d survive the lunges without projectile vomiting and passing out, regardless of how much willpower I have, lol.

So, yeah… I think this programme is gonna be brutal. It’s not even so much the weight as it is the special techniques at this point (all I ever do is an occasional drop-set). I’m kinda scared of losing strength, because I can’t use anywhere near 80% of my 1RM with all these special techniques, but I trust CT enough to persevere with the programme.

How’s everyone else handling it so far? I’m sure I’ve seen a few people mention this man-breaking leg workout on the forums, lol, and would love to hear about everyone’s results.

On a side-note… Out of those doing the programme, is everyone following the PWO instructions to a T? I don’t have access to some of the amino acids necessary, so I had some malto/dextro/leucine and a mango PWO today, along with whey. Feeling kinda guilty about it, lol, but I’m not sure what other options I have, aside from taking straight whey.

I am on week 3. I’ve lost some fat, but my weight has stayed relatively the same.

This is this first time i’ve actually puked from a workout. Yesterday afternoon i was leaning on my car given up all my delicious Surge workout fuel to the pavement.

I’d say i follow the meal PWO stuff at like 90% due to budget constraints.

The best is that if you look ahead, it only gets more and more brutal…

I love/hate CT

I’m loving week 4 right now, following the diet ~90% I would say. I find the training eye-opening in that I’m learning how much more I can take than I thought. Example: Back/triceps training followed by heavy bench press the following day.

Mabbott29, how’s your fat loss process going? Ditto for Bigbakes… How much is “some”? Did you get visibly leaner? Did either of you guys take the necessary measurements?

Also, a bit sad to learn that it doesn’t get any easier :(. As I said, I don’t mind lifting heavy ass weights, muscle pain, and all that, but I do hope that my cardio pimps itself up to the challenge at least a little by next week.

Don’t worry about strength. Most phases are based on heavy lifting at least 50% of the time. You should actually get stronger starting at week 3.

The first 3 weeks were killer for me, but I saw great gains from the leg workouts. I thought about replacing back squats for fronts but I decided to follow the program to the letter.

I started week 9 today (hell week) and other than last week not being able to follow it as religiously as I’d have liked due to work, I have dropped a pant size and my weight has held pretty constant.

G87 - I’ve lost like 4 lbs on the scale, but more important, i am visably less pudgy (i’m carrying around a lot of fat) but as it stands, weeks 1-2 don’t have much cardio. This is my 3rd week which has cardio 5 days per week… so the fat loss should be more profound after this week. Didn’t do the measurements but i will tonight. Good thread to try and keep going as we are all around the same starting weeks… we’ll need the support!

Make sure you guys keep updating this all the way until you conclude the program please. The only author I would consider paying for a program is CT, but I’m still somewhat skeptical of these so keep the updates coming.

If you could give started weight and relative BF at the start and same for the finish that would be dandy, thanks fellas.

I didn’t get all the measurements at the beginning because as per CT’s recommendation I am focusing on making the basics of good nutrition second nature before I drop the calories and follow his diet to the letter. I am following the training however, and I would say I’ve lost 5-8 lbs in the 3-4 weeks I’ve been doing that. Pretty good I think, considering I haven’t been using the correct diet yet. Oh and at the beginning I was at approx 20% bf, 225 lbs on 5’11"

waylanderxx- I’m the same way when it comes to paying for training programs, but after picking up Get Jacked I’m pleased with my purchase. At the expense of giving away the program, I will say that there is a LOT of heavy lifting involved, and Thibs doesn’t mess around at all. I expect to set a lot of PR’s by the end of this.

Thanks for dropping in, Coach. As I said, I have confidence in the programme, it’s just a psychological thing. Being defeated by 200lb RDL’s, when I am able to do 50+% more for the same number of reps is peculiar :).

So, anyone got any ideas on the PWO shake? I looked up CT’s article on “Renassaince Body Development,” but that article is nearly 2 years old and unrelated to “Get Jacked Fast.” Anyone got a simple PWO alternative? Maybe just up the whey instead of glutamine? Bleh… Considers adding Surge Workout Fuel to PWO shake for insulin spike.

Bigbakes: Haha, if you told me I had to do cardio today, after that workout, I would’ve cried. Good riddance! I’m looking forward to the weeks with more vanilla exercises/sets.

Waylander: I was going to post a log of this programme… Then I realised anyone could take the programme for free and CT wouldn’t be too pleased. D’oh… I will post my final results, though.

I was really hoping that the new low-carb PWO drink would come out soon from Biotest. It would be nice to be able to drink something that tastes decent instead of the plain whey+glutamine shake.

Hm ok cool. Btw did he mention who this program is geared towards? Is it more of a beginner to intermediate thing or is good for advanced lifters too?

where can i view info on purchasing this program?

I definitely wouldn’t call it a beginner program, although he doesn’t come out and say who it’s geared towards. There is lots of heavy lifting, and use of some pretty advanced methods. I would say it’s better for somebody more advanced, than for a beginner who is still learning the ropes, so to speak.

I was the same way in regards to paying for programs. I will say though that the information I’ve gained from CT’s articles, and forum posts, the 40 bucks is nothing when I’d look at the grand scheme of things. That being said I cannot be more pleased with this program

Go read through all of Thibs articles on this site and then question if you are still skeptical about the quality of his ebook.

Been there, done that. I’m always skeptical of blanket programs, but I’d trust CT over any other author here, that’s all I meant.

K end hijack, GL fellas.
