Thanks for the support man, I appreciate it!

Q:

How are you feeling with the morning walks? Has this altered your sleeping patterns??

Novagreg,

Just some clarification on the following two questions you asked CT (which he answered ‘yes’ to both:

  1. Cardio is to be done every day at low intensity first thing upon waking for 45-60 minutes?

  2. Cardio is done after my weight training sessions for the prescribed durations, and a second session is to also be done on days I’m not lifting for 45-60 minutes for moderate intensity?

So if I’m reading this correctly, you are doing cardio twice a day, every day. On off days, 45-60 mins upon waking up and a second session of 45-60 mins of moderate intensity, and for your training days, 45-60 mins upon waking up, and cardio after weight training.

Am I understanding this correctly?

sawadeekrob: I get about 7 hours of sleep per night, get up a bit earlier, but overall my sleeping hasn’t suffered.

tmoney1: You’ve got it right man.

Thanks for the clarification.

One more question: where are you getting your glutamine from, and are you using pill form or powder form?

Just plain old powder form man.

Is there a particular reason why meals 4 and 5 consist of whey and not solid foods, or a blend of whey and slower digesting proteins, such as micellar casein?

Or are these pre/post workout meals?

Best of luck to you.

Hey man thanks for your well wishes in both my forum and the PM!!

I wish you the best of luck as well although I doubt you need any luck!

Just curious what “low intensity” and “moderate intensity” means with regards to the cardio. does low equal walk, and moderate equal jog?

I was a little surprised that they were recommending such long cardio sessions. I’m relatively new to the site, but I read a lot of the Shugarts Hammer back issues and most recomend cardio be kept under 30 mins.

Best of luck to you

You’ll also notice though that CT is in charge of his training and Shugs is in charge of his psychological state during this clinic. WHat I’m saying is that what Shugs practices and preaches may be different than what CT is prescribing for novagreg.

I’m curious as to why you seem to be so focused on doing a lot of ab work. The muscles are already there bro. Doing a bunch of direct ab work isn’t going to get rid of the fat any quicker, I don’t think.

I’d be interested to know if CT thinks different.

Good luck… you lucky bastard.

Novagreg, I really am excited to see what you will look like through your transformation. I was reading an old article about Dan John dieting down, and he said he felt as though he operated better when he was leaner and “healthier” (for lack of a better word).
Let us know how you feel as you progress.

Good luck! But luck has nothing to do with it.

I’m really curious how the Surge Workout Fuel comes into play since you seem to be on a low-carb protocol. Normally, Glutamine, Glycine, and Leucine simulate the effects needed.

novagreg,

With 45-60 minutes of cardio twice-a-day, weight training and the fact that your a rather large guy, do you feel like your getting enough calories? I was doing the math and, depending on what type/brand of whey your using, your calories are at approx. 1900-2000. Subtract this and an approx. number for energy expenditure and you’ve got a rather drastic deficit. I have every confidence in CT, so I’m just wondering if you’re not posting other intake or is this it?

Good luck!

Hey guys, thanks for all the support, it means more than I can put into words on here.

The SURGE Workout Fuel is awesome so far, and it’s definitely made a difference in helping me get through the weight sessions immediately followed by about 45 minutes of cardio.

As for my nutrition, I’m posting all my intake. It’s definitely lower calories, but with the high fat intake, it definitely fills me up to the point where I’m not starving.

Hey man,

I realize that abs get hit on the big compound movements, just before this project started, I noticed my deadlift and front squat improving when I was hitting them directly 2-3 times per week. Just felt like my core strength could use some extra work. I realize that I’m not going to see them until my bodyfat levels are lower, so don’t worry, the reason I asked about has nothing to do with that.

I may have overlooked the amount of fish oil you’re taking. Is this the “high fat intake” you refer to? It appears that the 4 eggs you eat for breakfast and the servings of make up the majority of the “solid” fat intake. Does the olive oil and the fish oil really assist in staving off hunger(pangs)? Just wondering.

Your clinique page is the first thing I read every morning. Add me to the list of your supporters.

I am trying to get a handle on how many grams of protein you are taking in a day. Where I get confused is at the last two meals of the day when you have "2 cups whey.

Is that two cups of 100% Whey Protein powder or two cups of fluid Whey? In either case how much protein are you getting there?

THANKS and keep at it.
