Physique Clinic discussion for novagreg

I’ve been following bartl and novagreg’s progress since the beginning of this Physique Clinic and one observation that I’ve noticed is even though both guys were overweight in the beginnig, they seemed to carry their fat differently. Bart seemed to carry his fat underneath the abdominal region (harder belly), while novagreg seems to carry his over the abdominal region(more loose belly).

It seems with everyone I see with the more “harder” belly loses fat rather quickly while people with fat over the muscle still lose weight, however, that stubborn fat is still there and more noticeable. I was wondering what are the reasons for these two types such as testerone levels, cortisol, or just plain old genetics?

Can anything else be done to help out novagreg to get rid of this (ie. sweat belts, creams, supps etc…) besides what he is already doing… which is busting his ass inside and out of the gym. Just something I’ve been pondering and wanted to see if Shugs or CT noticed the same thing and if they have any answers. Keep battling novagreg, you’re gettin there.

Newest pictures are showing some real progress. Excellent work!

Thanks for the video link and the kind words man!

I think there is a difference between constructive criticism and bashing someone to total shit. NovaGreg, you has made awesome improvements thus far and that much should be recognized.

MaximusB,
Thanks man, that means alot to me.

Greg, this video doesn’t do the song justice but pay attention to the chorus.

And if anyone has ever seen Pennywise live, you will they are fucking insane. One of the best pits you will find…

Hi Nova!

I’ve never posted on this thread before but, I just wanted to say good job and keep up the good work.

It’s probably old news already but, I was just catching up on your thread and I was so irritated to read what listerfan was saying. Loosing fat is so hard and it doesn’t work the same way for everyone. I give you extra props for sticking it through and keeping up the great work despite the speed bumps. Most people would have gotten discouraged or quit but, you stuck it through and you’re getting your well deserved results… 26lbs, about 3 months… AWESOME!

Hey Jennjenn,
Thanks alot for your kind words and support. Bartl and I were talking about our experiences, and I’m paraphrasing, but he said this whole thing called fat loss had many peaks and vallies. There’s up and downs, figuring out what works, what doesn’t.

Everyone has their detractors, critics, and obstacles to overcome. I’m just doing the best I can each day, and part of that is improving from the previous day. It’s taken me long to get going, but I’ll reach my goals.

Hey Greg! you have are in the groove fella! I am really glad to see you kicking butt!

Have you noticed any differences? And when I ask I mean in general life and the changes of how folks treat you and more importantly, how you treat yourself.

Good for you Greg. This is not just a 3-month stint. This is a life time change. Beby24 in the Muscle Sorority has really accomplished a lot. She is also for the long term goal.

Really really good.

Thanks Octobergirl, I appreciate it!

People have noticed the change, and I’m starting to become more aware that people are treating me differently.

I’ll be sure to check out Beby24’s progress.

Now you’re cookin’ Greg! Glad to see they finally found the right formula for you to reach your goals and unleash some of that muscle you’re hiding. You can do it man!

Thanks for the support bro, love your avatar!

I think people keep forgetting that you lost a shit load of weight before the program started. In my opinion that didn’t help your numbers. With me there was a huge drop in the first month and then I slowed down. You already had that fast lost before you started.

I think if you look at the overall picture, from before you started this program and lost, what 20+ pounds, you have kicked major ass and I am extremely proud of you.

Bartl,
Thanks bro, I appreciate that. At this point, I’m fine with a more gradual loss of bodyfat, because I have absolutely zero interest in losing lean body mass. Less than a year and a half ago, I was 297 at my highest, so being a good 60 pounds lighter is a big relief.

I’m proud of you too man, you’ve blown the roof off this place with your progress!

Nice work Greg, you’re coming right along. 60 pounds lost is awesome. I’ve lost 60 pounds myself, but I have a long ways to go, so I know the feeling. We just have to keep working hard and never be satisfied.

Good job man, keep it going!

Don’t let those few guys get you down, Greg. The other 99.9999999999999999% of us are all cheering you on.

It’s so hard mentally when progress is slow, and I’m well impressed at how you’ve been keeping up - I’m truly envious of your work ethic. Glad to see you’re losing steadily now and being rewarded for your efforts. Keep up the good work!

Thanks man, you keep up the good work as well.

Okaz,
Thank you for your support, I appreciate it! My parents always taught me that anything worth attaining requires great sacrifice and hard work, and the Physique Clinic is no different.

Good job so far Novagreg. As someone on my own journey of transforming my body, I know how hard it can be and I also know it takes a while to figure out what it takes to see consistent results. I also know a lot about plateaus as I seem to be right in the middle of one right now. heh.

But as a friendly suggestion, your progress pics are not useful at all since you are in tense poses which do not display your body naturally, are in horribly lit environments or in obstructed poses which you do the “mirror/camera phone thing” with one arm up covering one side of your body. As I’m sure you’re getting some results, those conditions don’t allow any kind of help to prove your case visually.

You should think about what your Physique Clinic buddies Gus and Bartl have done to show their progress… Take photos with a decent camera with timer in a well lit (ambient lit, not with overhead spot lights) room. A solid backdrop also helps but isn’t absolutely necessary. If you have a tripod or can borrow one, that would be even better. Try to always take it with the same location, time, lighting and distance as those are the constant conditions for this comparison. Do not pose at all for the REAL progress pics. Both arms should be relaxed and to the side of your body and exhale naturally right before the shot. One clear front pic and one side/profile pic would be good enough to chart visual progress. Your shorts/pants should not be pulled to high to cover the pooch. Don’t be shy and pull it down a few inches. Let it hang out.

Like we’ve heard time and time again. The pics don’t lie. Invest in a decent camera, designate a well lit spot in your house and have at it. This clinic is done remotely after all and you should be proud to show the fruits of your hard work and labor through this process. Help the coaches help you man. Good luck on this long, challenging and exciting road.

Meh, don’t let the turkeys get you down. They aren’t here on display for all the world to see.

Good work.

Scott
