The squats made my tendinitis flare up but thats about what i expected. At least after I train through this bit of tendinitis I wont have to worry about that shit. I knew it was coming but i forgot how much of a pain in the ass [knees rather] it is.

Chris, have you tried wrapping below the knees a la Klokov? Worked great for me when I had patellar tendinitis.

Not much to report from me - been away for a few days and have had my PhD defence and then a job interview, so have pretty much just done a couple of quick sessions of power snatches followed by front squats. Did a beltless 122.5kg this morning which was nice and solid.

Yeah dude what i do is eat a fuck ton of fish oil and Roll-wrap my knee sleeves around the lower patella.

I couldn’t do so at my OL gym though because I’m sure i would have been demoted to training with the 5kg bar with helium balloons attached for 3 weeks.

It’s fucking ridiculous as you can easily tell from my recent posts in the last thread. Basically dont do anything hard cause you might get hurt. And if you are hurt then you dont get to do anything.

And the key to getting the most out of your tendinitis is to train through it. It is an adaptation response, just a painful one.

I taped them and I saw 2 problem that I just could not get my head to fix:

  1. When the weight is bellow the knees, extend the legs a little more before extending straight UP!
    —rarely did I extend my knees a little more, most times I just RDLed it to pass the knees.

  2. Extend UP! (like the Cuban coach at the Olympics said: “Extend to the roof, reaching for the roof all the time”)
    —rarely did I extend UP on my cleans. I did on most pulls but rarely on the cleans.
    —I was also lacking Explosive power.

On Saturday 5/9/09
I went by the Univ. Gym after work and to some arm stuff.

Dumbell Shoulder presses all the way up to 75kg (double right arm, single left arm), with major side leaning as it got heavy.
-now because my left shoulder region is not as flexible as my right shoulder region I had to lean and twist a little when using pressing with my left hand.

I ended up straining my lower right oblique in the process, but it wasn’t too bad.

I finished up with some curls and pushups.

Wednesday 13/5/09

this is where the shit hit the fan. I did my cleans & jerks from high block. Up to 80% no problem)

85kg… oh shit… I started off the floor and once I extended my legs to the spot right before I explode up. I felt the sharp pain on the bottom right oblique.

Stopped immediately… stretched around and stuff but… when home soon after.

I can move around and stuff, but if I do anything that require C.O.R.E contraction (ei: planks) it hurts pretty bad. I can twists, but cannot twist and bend on my right side.

I think I can still squat… but I’ll give it until tomorrow.
