4 wks ago thursday i begun a progression to learn the clean, first i learned a jump shrug, did that for 2 wks then my trainer/coach taught me a high pull last wk was my first time doing it, this thursday will be my second wk. As you can tell im a beginner. What should i look into as for equipment, id like to at some point buy shoes and pimmp out my garage so i can lift in there. By the way i am 15 years old ive been working out consistantly since i was 12 years old. Id like to get more into lifting but i dont know how? So this is the beginning of OLy lifting anyone have some good tips, basiclly a full guide?
Get shoes.
Train with the coach/team as often as possible.
eat lots of meat.
Sleep more than you think you should.
Dont get discouraged and stop lifting.
Fuk working in your garage. I have yet to get as solid a session in my fully pimped garage as i do with the team.

Shoes are definitely important. Even if your flexibility is good they give you a more stable base than normal shoes.
Shoes are imperative. You reproduce all your force against the ground. If your shoes are your unstable, ill reciprocative weak link then you are going to ahve a hard time getting good patterns.
At my place our 62kg lifter went from trainers to OL shoes and the difference was night and day. Now when the womens national volley ball team comes to work out he can make World records.

I don’t think those are national team volleyball players, but they are volleyball chicks nonetheless, and they do work out in their spandies . . . mmm, volleyball shorts . . .
Oh, and uh, everything else Avocado threw out there is good advice.

Dude, dont you remember back when the volleyball tourney was on at the oval and the whole national team came for a demo game? They workout first in the weight room? Was that on your week off? Maybe you were at nats? Those broads were hyuge.

What shoes do you recomend for a beginner, with NARROW feet? thanks
go to:
www.muscledriverusa.com and scope the shoes. those or some doowin’s are cost effective. The narrowest fit is the nikes but they are actually quite heavy for a WLing shoe. I wanted some and then got a hold of some that another guy had and said fuck that, them shits whiegh a ton. If you got the beans you can cop a pair of those new adidas ones I hear they feel great. Get what you can afford. Maybe think about the fact that you’ll grow into them too hey. an extra pair of socks every workout might be worth not having to buy a new pair of kicks next year.

Our 62kg uses the dowins. He says they do the trick. The ristos are super high in the heel so watch out for that.

If you train on Sundays we should train together.
Let me know
I know what you mean about training lone wolf, it sucks. As for sunday That’s my big day of resty rest. I work most of the day and I brought all my bar/bumper kit to my other work So I got nothing but squats/etc on sundays.
Peak isnt open sundays is it? afaik peak isnt a big weekend place. Neither is the oval. Those guys can barely keep the doors open for an hour a day if it’s anyhting more than 12 months before the olympics.

Well i have a key to Peak as I work part time there, so getting in any time I want is easy, finding someone to lift with on Sundays is the problem haha.
Well I guess ill have to fight through it until the summer is over and my schedule goes back to normal

Y’know, if you’re gonna want me to switch my schedule around and lift on the only day off I have a week, you might want to try spelling my name right . . .
