Solid day today. Head coach came by to watch the evening lifters train, which now includes me, as I get done with work at ~5:15 and then have to drive an hour to Moorestown to train. FUCK NEW JERSEY. FUCK TRAFFIC.
Anyway.
Clean up to 95kgx2x3. Felt VERY easy…it’s amazing how much easier it feels when you don’t have to worry about jerking it afterwards. I need to bring that mental attitude with me when I clean and jerk; I think I often don’t give the clean everything I’ve got, and it makes the jerk harder anyways. 110 clean looming in the near future, methinks.
Also, Leo recommended that I start making my way up to 85kg as soon as possible. I don’t think I really want to make a blitz of it like I did when going from 69 to 77, so I think I’ll meander my way up over the next 6 months or so. I do need some more meat on my legs to get some decent leverage.

Testing jerk tomorrow–115kg or bust![/quote]
How tall are you?
My coach wants me to lift 85 eventually but I shit myself when I heard that cause I stand 5’6, and being a jacked 85kg is pretty intense
Bulgarian Split Squats:
-40lbs dumbells, 10reps each leg.
-50lbs dumbells, 6reps x2
-60lbs dumbells, 5reps
-60lbs dumbells, 3reps
—left leg a little weaker than the right.
Sternum Pullups/Pullups/Chinups/Kipping Pullups/Chinups
-anywhere from 10-5reps.
-for a total of 6sets… I wanted to do 8 sets, but even with 5mins of rest and Kipping my back was spent.
Walking Lunges: (not sure how much weight, but probably up to a max of 50kg)
-14steps x3
I don’t think Kendrick is quite that short, at least he didn’t look it when I met him at a competition this year…but he is definitely a solid looking mofo!

could always be a fat 85 like I was.
I’m 5’6 and a half, so I’m a toss up between 85 or 94. More likely 94 because I’m built to be big. It all depends. Taranenko was too short to be a super heavy by russian standards.

That’s what the OG2008 site had him down as. Maybe he was on stilts when you met him? Or wearing some old Do-Wins?
In terms of height/weight, I’m 5’10" and according to Roman’s data on heights/weights of champions I should be either at the VERY top of the 105 class or at 105+. 85kg makes perfect sense for someone 5’6" and you could even go heavier. I mean, to be a champion it makes sense to be totally jacked.
Yeah, I’m 5’8, so 85 is an inevitability…I just remember how uncomfortable it was going from 69 to 77 in ~7 weeks, so I think I’ll take my time this time around.
Shit session today…horrible traffic sapped all my energy.
Snatched up to 70/2, 73/2, 70/2, 73/2 just fine, but then was supposed to test jerk.
Only made 105, missed 110 twice. I just didn’t have any leg drive; everything felt wrong. I will do better next time, but in the meantime, early bedtime+rest day tomorrow are in order, I think.

I’m not sure why, but his height ranges from 5’6 to 5’9 depending on which site you look. I expected him to be short in person, but he wasn’t. Perhaps he’s superhuman after all and can change it based on his mood or for intimidation purposes.
Chin ups and push up supersets (or is it dropset?)

Training in BMORE!
Clean Pull+Pull+squatClean+Jerk-- up to 80kg
-again, making sure I jumped UP and did a powerful shrug
-power clean 75kg
Clean Pulls (floor)-- up to 90kg
-I was a little more solid than usual, fighting the urge to swing back.
–Thus I was able to get some good shrugs and make it racket!
RDLs: up to 90kg 3reps
-still shaking, but I can do a few more reps than before
–Isometric RDL in near the top position (where I am weak) with 60kgs, to finish it off.
just didn’t feel good about anything tonight, even though the weights weren’t too bad
04/08/09
trained at my local non-oly lifting so no “proper” oly lifts
back squat - 180 2x5 (not done 5 reps with this weight since I stopped bodybuilding in 2005)
power jerk - 90 3x3
snatch pull - 100 4x3 (slow & controlled first pull to try and focus on keeping position)
single arm row - 50 4x5 (didn’t feel that heavy recently, which was surprising!)
I’ll probably train here again on Friday so another non-lifting day :-((
8/2/09
Training at the Uni Gym, and then sneaking to another gym with my friend to finish off the training.
Front Squats.. these were sucking
-up to 95kg 4reps.
-then down to 83kg 3reps X 3
-then up to 100kg x1
-missed 105kg
Windshield wipers:
-trying to keep my torso horizontal (hard)
-10,7,5 swings
-finished off by trying to do a front lever… nowhere near close..
Shoulder Presses:
-up to 60kg X3
8/5/09
training in BMORE!
Pull+Pull+Snatch up to 60kg X4
-the pull is looking a little better, since now my hips don’t thrust forward.
-HOWEVER, I am still throwing my head back, way back… which makes it imposible to shrug
Snatch Pulls: (floor)
-Up to 80kg
-I really want to come Faster off the floor, but damn it is hard after 75kg.
RDLs:
-up to 90kg 1 rep!
-then down to 80kg 2reps x3
-hollys**t the Moorestown coach made me take a good 30kg OFF my (not)RDL
Single leg RDL with 30kg… for fun.
3sets, 2-4resp.
I gotta say, when I can feel my lats and my c.o.r.e tight snatches/pulls move faster.
