Sweet dude. I’ve got some catching up to do.
Neo, snatches yesterday were from regular blocks, just below the knee.
Cleaned 90 from the high hang today for easy doubles. 110 clean is certainly possible if I get these pull mechanics dialed in from the floor.

Sorry dude, I charged my camera battery the night before and left the battery in the charger
I’ll document my next PR attempt haha.
Sneaky, thanks bro. You’ll catch up in no time.
I don’t post here often but 3 months into it and I hit a 90 c&j and a 60 snatch at 79kg BW in my second meet. I had a lot of fun at this meet.
Tonight I got a few PRs in the front squat.
110x2(only did it for a single two weeks back)
120x1(10kg pr for a single)
Can’t wait till I get that 100 c&J and at least a 75 snatch for the next meet.
22/07/09
decided not to snatch again today to give my wrist a rest.
Power Clean & Power Jerk - 100 3x2
Front Squat 130 3x2
Snatch pull 90 4x2 - concentrating on not pulling with my arms
Bench (the shame) 110 3x3
Close Grip Pull Ups 2x8
done!
on a side note, we’ve moved back into the old training room (the university was being decorated) and I had to train for 1hr 45mins with just me in the room and no music or anything. Very depressing!

so I’ve had an epiphany, twice in one week now.
So, today I have finally decided I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough of not having motivation to actually get off my ass and do something during the day. Its fricken summer and, how many times have I been to the shore? Once, at night. Not to mention I’m pretty embarrassed to take my shirt off, so that is just plain wonderful.
so, I’ve decided that I’m sick of being fat. A year and a half ago I was 185lbs, and now, I’m sitting pretty at 215… what the hell happened to me? I got mono, and I have an excuse to be lazy and I really haven’t come back from it. So I’m going back to what works to put me back where I should be. For those that remember, I’m bringing back the gallon of water. I’m bringing back the annoyingly strict low carb, and I’m actually going to do some cardio.
its time enough to return to what I should be. And I’m not going to let anyone stand in my way. Anyone who tells me that I’m not fat or that its ok blah blah blah… fuck you then, I won’t talk to you if you don’t support me in my endeavors. I can’t have anyone dragging me down, holding me back.
never again will I let this take control of my life. never again
i feel like I’m slipping into my old ways again. Time to fuck shit up
Fuck yeah, man. Tear that shit up.
Squat PR tonight–120kgx3x3. 150x1 coming soon, I think.

Oh mf yeah! Romanaz gonna kick some ass!
Hey, I’m moving to Ann Arbor Michigan pretty soon. Anyone know a place to train there?

That’s how my team trains all the time.
There should not be music or mirrors during training sessions since there are no mirrors or music during meets.
On a side note. Front Squatted 122.5kg for 4 reps for 2 sets. Rep PR.

no mirrors. Good. Music, big yes. They DO play some music @ national level meets from what I’ve seen.
also, chicks during the workout is good too.

ask on goheavy or fortified-iron.

Training in Bmore with dfreezy and a couple of other guys
Snatch:
-started out iffy but… got the SOB up to 77kg!
-I almost did 81kg for a PR.
However, the same issue remains… once the weight gets heavy (and not really that heavy, above 55kg) I start jumping/swinging back.
I am throwing the weights really high, but since my torso is so far by (and my thrown back all the way) there is no way to “shrug under”. So not only do I take longer in going down, but I have to travel farther to get down. ![]()
Snatch High Hang Pulls: up to 45kg
-working that part.
Snatch Pull off block (knee hight): up to 65kg
-dfreezy pointed out that the speed and aggressiveness on that bar was making it fly like 40kg.
-true… but I explained that for the 1/2 before the pull but the bar is OFF the blocks, my hips, glutes, and upper hamstrings are SHAKING.
I “think” this weakness is what is causing me to extend back on my 2nd pull.
RDLs:
-up to 90kg…
-now that I am strick on the RDL form (like Victor said) I can feel my glute and the top part of my hamstrings shaking.
-The shaking is especially worst near and the top of the RDL.
Stretch & GO HOME!

I have no idea what the competition format is like in America, but if music is being played during your lifts, then by all means, train with music.
However, music is not played at the provincial, regional, and national level in Canada. This is the same for the majority of the rest of the world as music is not played at the International Level (I assume this after seeing footage from Worlds, Asian Championships, European Championships, and the Olympics). Given that about 99% of the meets I will attend in this lifetime has no music, I train accordingly.
Here’s the result so far of a project I’ve been working on this summer. The lift is not particularly good, and the lifter is never going to win any beauty contests, but the overlays on the video might be of interest.

That means we should all be wearing our lifting suits too, surely? I’m sure very few people train in them - let’s face it they’re not exactly sexy are they?!!
Having no mirrors I’m fine with, but I find that I can focus out music pretty easily when I’m getting ready for a lift so I don’t see it as an issue, plus I was on my own in the room so didn’t even have anything to look at during the rest periods. I’ve trained like this for the best part of 12-months at one point and it’s pretty depressing to be honest.

what you gonna say about that? lol
I do agree that training with music takes away from my concentration.

I don’t practice the lifts… but that is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. How did you gather the data for those graphs?

Thought I would stop by and say, nice lifting.
I would suggest a race to 170, but I have a lot more energy to devote to squatting…
