Noticing The Difference...

Hi Guys

I had knee surgery in March and have just started going to the gym for about a month.

My workout (3-4 times a week) at the moment comprises of 10 mins on the treadmill (will increase when knee gets stronger), 10-20 mins on the cross-trainer and 20-30 mins swimming.

As for weights i do 215 chest press, 215 incline chest press, 215 shoulder press and 215 lat pull downs.

I also do about 30-40 crunches on the swiss ball and certain excercises for my knee/legs.

My diet is ok and try to eat no carbs in the evening, mainly protein.

I am 6’ and weighed 91.7 kg when i joined, i now weigh 92.3 kg after just over a month after joining. My physique is quite broad and i have a little extra weight all over especially on my gut! And since i injured my knee i have put a lot of weight on around my face.

My questions are, how long before i start noticing the difference and how come ive put weight on since i started and will the weight ever come back off my face?

Cheers

the weight is likely muscle.

notice a big difference eh Id say months give it a consistent year and nsee where you are this stuff takes time

Id also suggest starting a program that is well worth a darn. Look at the are you a beginner thread there are a TON of great ons there

It really depends. Knee surgery recovery time is different for everyone. Could be a few months, could be a couple of years. It will definitely be at least one full year.

I had knee surgery 2 years ago, and I would say my knee is 95% healthy. I don’t think it will ever be 100%, but that’s the nature of the injury.

Don’t worry about the timetable. Just be aggressive in your rehab, train and eat smart.

Wish you well in your recovery.
