New PR's Part 2

385 back squat, failed at 405 but I feel good about hitting 405 within the next month or 2

Ah, well.

So how’s your overhead pressing strength now?

Z Press
125 x 3

Deadlifted 405x2!! woo about time

I think I can strict press around 205, but I am not sure since last body day has been the first time I have over pressed in a few months. I’ll be overhead pressing 145 for three sets of eight tomorrow on my body.

2 second pause squat PR: 340X2 after three sets of 300X2 and a set of 320X2

Recent lifts that made me happy:

Back squat 220x7
Power Clean 150x1
Bench 155x6 (nearly had 7)
Press 110x9
Front Squat 165x8

I’ve been very strict with my deadlift recently and, as a result, haven’t really hit PBs. Right now, I’d rather do one clean and quick rep than five rounded grinders.

Goals for the next 6-8 months:

Back squat 270x5
Deadlift 310x5
Bench 175x5
Press 130x5

The press will probably be the easiest one, the squat will be the toughest. Any advice for someone whose usual technical flaw is to fall forward on his way up (this does not happen all the time but it is what usually stops me from getting more reps with heavyish weight)?

First time doing actual GHR bwX12

back extensions off of a GHR bench 60X10

rope facepull thing 70X13

Been trying this for awhile with no straps or belt.

495x1

Congrats. And I like the face and eyes in that picture.

Z Presses

Thanks

I’ve been training to shoot lasers from my eyes… less impressive so I focused on the DL total.

Conventional deadlifts against a pair of 20-25 (so about 40-50 pounds total) chains with a very loose belt (probably gave me like 10 pounds with how loose I had it, I am not sure how loose it’s supposed to be) I used from my school’s weight room 375X3
GHR’s with arms crossed on my chest 24 reps in six sets
suit case deadlifts 175X3

Just some PR’s from today. I’ll be using more of that belt on heavy squat/deadlifts until I get this. http://www.flexcart.com/members/elitefts/default.asp?cid=299&m=PD&pid=5653

Squats
315x10
225x20

Nice lifts. I can’t tell in your squat video, but are those really thin and or awkwardly wrapped knee wraps or knee sleeves that are blinding in with your really high sicks, or are those just weird looking socks?

If they are knee wraps/sleeves, what brand are they, and would you recommend them? I am on the path of gear whoring as hard as a raw lifter (a really good belt, and if the federation allows, a good pair of knee wraps) can I think. lol

Thanks. They’re sleeves, but they’re not an even pair and they’re not great quality - pretty sure they’re meant for when your typical average Joe is feeling a bit sore in the joint.
They give a little bit of warmth, and if you fold them over themselves like I have (hence why they’re so short) they give a little compression and I guess some spring. I pretty much wear them purely to stave off any joint irritation I might get from squats 3x a week.

If you’re looking for a pair of knee sleeves, SBDs are what’ve been reccomended to me, and I’ve asked for some for xmas. I’ll get back to you on how I like them.

Finally hit a BW DL x 5 for the first time since my injury a while back… DLing 3x/week.

Good work.

How did you structure your dealifting, since you were doing it 3 times a week.

Alright, thanks. Get up with me on how you like them. Some knee sleeves would definitely be nice, my knees weren’t happy when I squatted a second time in one workout with step ups in between.
