200X6 wide stance good morning
130X8 trips single arm farmer walks
45X9 back extensions

:frowning: Yesterday I lost something that has been with me a long time. A mighty callous that had been growing for a year on my right hand right below the middle finger. It had been with me since I was benching 170, deadlifting 315, and squatting 270, and I was a small 137-ish pound lifter.

It was a massive callous that was about a quarter inch thick, and was near invincible. :frowning:

Don’t know whether this should count or not, but I did a 265lbs x 1 bench (1s paused) today. The issue is my regular spotter was not training with me today, so I had to ask a random. A random who likes touching the bar even after I told him not to. It didn’t feel too hard, but then again, I’ve always been VERY much affected by the psychological aspect of having a spotter, so I can’t really tell if (or how much) he was “helping” by feel.

Also moved my skullcrushers up to 80lbs for sets of 10.

And prowler work… Tried doing some pushes at 4 plates a side. Most agonizing workout I’ve ever done, but it’s really cool to see how much stronger I’ve gotten at this.

How is that even possible? I can do 100X10+ strict, and 105X10 with roll back tricep extensions .(basically the barbell version of the DB roll back tricep extensions)

edit: I am also a tricep-o-saurus who is attempting to evolve his triceps into doceps.

160x1 SGHP today.

Previous PR was 145x2. So… 15 lb PR. I’m still working on 165 though, I think I can get it later tonight. I think it’s all due to form and technique and timing and such. I’m 95% of the way there; just short about 1".[/quote]

It didn’t happen. Just worked up to 160 again. At least the PR was reproducible.

Secondly, layer system workouts really don’t lend themselves to “I’ll just finish it up later”, if anyone was curious.

Yeah, it’s kind of weak compared to pretty much all my other numbers. I think it has to do with a few things, though. I only really started doing them recently and I never do them fresh. Skullcrushers get done after heavy (>TM) comp-style paused bench singles, 3s paused bench (5/3/1), and my BBB work 50%/60%/70%/60%/50% OHP SS with 5x10 rows. Also got them long deadlifter’s arms. But maybe I’m just making excuses here, lol.

I’ve never really made them a priority, but it’s something I’ve definitely noticed I’m lagging which is why I started. Really just hoping for some bench/OHP carryover.

Just finishing up an 8 week deadlift program and hit a huge PR.
435x2. I started the program stalled at 375x1, so it’s been a big gain for the 8 weeks.

93 pull/chin ups spread throughout workout at bw of 104kg (229lbs)

Pull-up pyramid 1-2-3-4-5-6-5-4-3-2-1 (10s rest per rep) (36 total reps)

As above neutral grip (36 total reps)

3x AMRAP chin-ups - 10 (PB ever), 7, 4

Also got 2x100kg FS, but am a bit disappointed as I was going for a triple. Started falling forward on second rep so left it at that.

Ok guys, I haven’t really posted much on here, but I frequently read the articles and forums. I’ve been kind of shy I guess because my lifts aren’t quite up to par with some of the monsters on here. Anyways, I had set a goal for myself of hitting 315x1 on my back squat by Christmas. Well today I reached that goal.

I have been doing the SL 5x5 and have really been enjoying it. I really like the linear progression. Easy to follow with minimal thinking.

Just wanted to share that.

Slight Incline Bench Press from Pins: 155 x 1. This was a ~10lb PR (from 145 x 2).

145X6 wide grip overhead press
195X8 snatch grip row with 2 second hold and straps

Some of today’s. Off on my quest to overhead press body weight for six reps. (which any brave souls who are strong enough to challenge me on it can join in on) I would need 25-30 more pounds on it to do that if I keep gaining weight slowly.

Everyones welcome!

145X6 wide grip overhead press video

Had a rough day, so made it my mission to kill it in the gym today. I love cheap therapy.

Hit a 157kg x 3 back squat which I was pleased with. There’s a good possibility I might’ve managed another, but it would’ve been too much of a grinder for my taste. So I think I made the right call cutting the set short. A PR’s a PR. Worked my speed pulls from 140kg (the majority) up to a very smooth and quick single at 180kg. Much better than the last time I tried to use 180kg for speed work.

210X3 wide stance good mornings off of #12 pin 25 pound+1 rep PR
130X8 clean grip reverse lunges
230X8 trips DB farmer walks

Some of today’s personal records. To anyone who does farmer walks, is 260 decent?

260 per hand or all together. If 260 a hand holy fuck at your weight its fucking monsterously storng. If 130 at your weight and with a DB and not a Farmers Implement is still pretty fucking beastly. Believe it or not a 120lbs DB is harder for me to hold on to than a 200lbs per hand farmers.

It is per side. I also made an error, it is 230 total instead of 260 total. I’m fixing it in any mention of it now.

500 for 2 super wide squat. Much weaker than my normal position. Big motivation for the upcoming meet.
